I'm proposing sometime soon, so xmas is going to be a little light this year due to a recent, one carat drain on my bank account ... mine has been since july...and xmas will still be tight. The beautiful saphire and diamond ring that I designed for her was the equivalent of shooting myself in the foot...now it's - "oh look at the saphire and diamond bracelet/necklace/earings..." she is always telling me how lucky she is that she has me...why can't that be enough? Oh, and teh wife is 5 months pregnant! Oh, and we have had 2 months of family members and best friends living in our house for various reasons!! I 'think' I remember how to do it... but it's been a while! Every happily married guy knows that this is just a phase and to look towards the future! That's what I keep telling myself! For gifts, I will set her up with a car alarm and a new set of tires... not sexy but needed. For something more fun, we'll go out to a really nice romantic dinner and drop the daughter off at Grandma's house all night and into the next morning, to give us some alone time!
