GTWag
Does KingofImports actually sell these wheels? I see them listed, but none of their links work on that site. I want these wheels! Where can I get???
SUBE555
The only thing I don't like about the Spec B wheels is the 18x7" size as it's hard to get the 215/45R-18 size and what you can get is REALLY expensive for basic rubber Although you can get 215/40R-18 easier, it won't have the same load rating of a 225/40R-18 although it's the same rolling diameter as our 215/45R-17. I'd love to get the Spec B's but wheel width and tire availability are the determining factors for me. The Rota Tarmac II's come in 18x7.5", a size that easily accomodates the popular and only slightly taller 225/40R-18 size. The TII is essentially the same style and I can have it in bronze. :D That's gonna look tite on my Atlantic Blue GT Wagon. :p Plus the Tarmac II's can be had for under $800 with spline-drive lugs and center caps. GTWag
Good point. I thought they were 7.5". Do you know if the 7-spoke spec-B wheels are also 7" wide? Those are some beautiful wheels as well.
SUBE555
I'm going to guess the 7-spokes are also 7" wide, but I'd also like to hear confirmation on that.

I just put the Volks on my Atlantic Blue wagon and they look sweet, though if I can sell my stock GT wheels I will buy a set of the 18" Spec B wheels as my second winter set. I love the look of those wheels.....smoother styling than the Tarmac IIs, though narrower and only in silver.

Because if they do I see no reason to not use the the spec-b rims, and just put on a 225/40 instead of the oem 215/45.

So I know it can be done. Do a search for his posts, and you can see the pics. I just dont think a "wide" 225 would fit on there (according to his experience). I forget the tire brand he got to fit. kanoswrx
225's should fit just fine on a 7" wheel, auto-x'ers ran 225's on the wrx's 6.5" wide rim. I am debating between the spec b wheels and rota's myself. those spec b wheels just look so good though. If I got the spec b's some 225/40/18 toyo t1's would deffinetly be going on. SC GT
I've got 225/40 Ziex's on mine. But, I'm thinking about switching them out to 225/45/18 when the new version of the Falken Azeni Sports come out. I know it'll throw my speedo off, but I don't think it will cause any rubbing anywhere. It would actually be slightly narrower at the middle of the sidewall than the 40. I'd just like a little more sidewall. Any thoughts on 225/45/18's? Pros? Cons?
PGT
225/40/18 has plenty of sidewall, close to stock actually.

IwannaSportSedan
Try your local Subaru Dealer. The 2006 US market Spec B uses the SAME wheels. Or PM some of the recent Spec B buyers on the board, and see if they plan on going aftermarket, and selling the OEM wheels...

relhok
Seven spoke rims look strange with 5 lugs. Three lugs at a spoke and two lugs between spokes. Seven-spokers look better with covered lugs.
GraysonSubaru
Hi All - I have a LGT Limited Wagon in SWP/Black int. on order. I have been looking at wheels.....please share your thoughts about the 18" Spec B wheels vs. a BBS or OZ wheel. I like the OEM fit and finish, but could find an aftermarket wheel I like too. $1200 shipped on the Spec B wheels vs. around $1200-$1600 for OZ's or BBS in an 18". I really want some Prodrive GC-010's, but don't see the point of the extra $1K, when that would pay for an exhaust (whenever one gets released). The 18" wheel has an anthracite finish vs. the silver on the 17"s.
what about the prodrive P1's that you voted for in my thread? they seem to look like they are almost the same wheel (just wider) than the US Spec B wheel ---or are you looking for JDM SPec B wheels?
