mcsquish
OK, I have now taken my '05 LGT with 15,500 miles to two different dealerships for the same problem without any help. I had a squealing right side break. So I take it into my local dealer and they said no problem. I get the car back, they turned the rt front rotor, but the squealing brake was still there. So I take it back and they said no problem. This time they say they never could make the breaks squeal, so nothing is wrong. The noise is probably because the pads are metallic, (??) and now I have a vibration in the pedals and steering wheel at 50mph +. So they had to do something, I guess. So I am in Chicagoland and take my car to a local dealership for the vibration and squeal and ask them to turn the rt REAR rotor. They balanced the tires and rereturned the rt front rotor and tell me it is out of round but it is OK, and guess what, no change??. So am I just being too picky, is a slight vibration normal in a AWD car like a Subaru? I know enough that the rotor needs turned, I just have to convince them to do it I guess. HELP!!!! Please. ________ Fix Ps3
CasopoliS
oh man... sorry that is happening. Talk to John at Yark Subaru in Toledo. He is a good guy and maybe can help. I am guessing you have already been there. I honestly cannot help.
Lil_Sol
i got problems with my brakes too... but they told me it might b the pads ( said it might have a 'metallic' piece rubbin against the rotor... or that the brakes need to b machined)
spicish22
i have a lot of brake squeal too, and it seems like it is on the right side as well. i took it in to the dealership and of course it rained that day so they claim that they could not duplicate the problem. then i got the whole brakes are metallic thing. another problem that doesnt seem like its going to get fixed unless i do something elsewhere. whitetiger
Sand the front pads down alittle to get rid of the noise
b4wantab
My brakes squeeked at first and then went away. I do not remember the mileage when it started and stopped. However you should not have any vibration. That you need to get fixed. Peace, Greg
mccorry
Sand the front pads down alittle to get rid of the noise +1 The vibration is due to pad deposits on the rotor surface. You'll have to have the rotors turned to get rid of those..... or go back through the brake bedding procedure.
gargleblaster
^^ Two dealerships turned his rotors already, and one reported that it was 'out of round'. You would think turning would take care of that problem, but who knows... If it were me, I'd take this opportunity to upgrade pads and rotors. Does Carbotech have fitments for the LGT yet? Lagacy GT
I have the same problem too, right side squealing. They said the pads were semi-metallic so they are supposed to squeal. That seems extremely retarded because the noise it makes is absofuckinglutely insane. It makes people go deaf and pedestrians always turn around and give me a huge frown when i get to a stop sign. But, i read up on the internet and what they're saying is true, semi-metallic pads.. at some point in their lifespan will squeal.
mcsquish
you know gargleblaster, I never thought of it that way. Hmmmmm..... Lagacy, you forgot about the dogs howling. Thanks everyone for the input, I don't feel as frustrated now. New rotors and pads, hmmmmmmmmm. rao
Upgraded pads are much more likely to make noise then the stock pads. Get it fixed properly; brakes aren't that complex. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT

mcsquish
Yeah, it looks like I'm going to a dealer in Toledo now. I just got my 15,000 service and had a headlight replaced because it was fogging up. When I got the car back I stopped by to see the salesman who sold me the car and who is a friend to show him what I have done to it so far. When I popped the hood the prop rod fell out. Then he noticed that the air intake was busted (they replaced the air filter). When I took it back for service to fix the problem, they acted like I broke everything. Then when I got the car home I noticed that the bumber was loose. They forgot a couple bolts and didn't even put the fender liner in correctly. This sucks. ________ Pornstars Videos
