DAVES XTOUTBK
Had a guy at the local gas station comment to me that he thought I had a bad motor mount when he was watching my car shake as I started it up. I re-started it, paying attention, and he was right. The front end does wiggle when the motor turns over. I thought that was the way Subaru motors were. Do I have a problem...?????? SBT
Depends how much movement you're talking about. There is a slight engine rock which is common to almost every vehicle on the market. That I wouldn't worry about as it's normal. Does it look like the engine is trying to throw itself out of the engine compartment or does it just rock slightly when you start it up. Is there any bumping noise coming from the engine compartment when you start up from a stop or shift up/down through the gears? If not, then I'd think that everything seems to be normal. Guest *Jedimaster*
Normal- the boxer engine just has more shake to it. Tell him Porsche's do it too and that it's to be expected.
