Blitzen 3.0l in Oz

For some unknown reason, FHI has not made the 2.0L turbo engine compliant with Euro IV emissions standards. Australia adopted Euro IV standards, effective on Jan 1, 2006 so Subaru Australia has been unable to import any more 2.0L GT cars since then. I don't know why FHI hasn't yet offered a 2.5L GT to Europe and Australia.

The Subaru 6MTs are engineered and possibly even made by Porsche if my information is correct. It's one sweet piece of engineering internally and I would love to have one in my car. But that won't happen anytime soon.

To you lucky ones in Australia, enjoy the Blitzen, it looks sweet as all get out.

so why are the manual tranny equipped blitzens more expensive then the sportshift automatics?

and I know most folks don't like them, but I really want those rims.

prbably b/c they don't mke as many manual tranies for the v6:)

I know if we got the 3.0 Blitzen everyone on this forum would be livid it wasn't a 2.5 turbo and/or that it didn't have STI power.

nah...

I'd just be saving up for a Cobb/Rotrex supercharger, or maybe a twin turbo setup. Or an engine swap back to the 2.5T, maybe with a twin-scroll.

But, on the other hand... the JDM Blitzen is based on the 2.0Twin-Scroll GT Spec B. I imagine because it has a little more "lightning" than the 3.0R Spec B, which is the most spry version currently available in Australia and Europe. (where the 3.0R Blitzen is going...)

Would not a Blitzen in the US be an alternate take on a USDM 2.5 Turbo Spec B, considering that is the top end of the Legacy in the US, and the 3.0R is not here... (although I think it should be here... considering how popular cubic inches and cylinder count are in this country...)

But it does have the 6MT, and it does have that hot rod sedan look with the red paint. The red paint and pitch black interior (even black headliner... very sexaay.) are the hardest things to change, and the stuff that isn't available elsewhere.

The only other bit is that it doesn't have the moonroof... Kinda odd. I'd either do without it or have a webasto unit put in, perhaps even bigger than the OE sedan's moonroof. I'd really be dissappointed without the monster glass roof in the wagon missing from the blitzen wagon.

Body mods, new wheels, power mods, big brakes, all sorts of stuff can be done to the blitzen... but we don't GET the blitzen.

I have always liked hot red sedans. Hellrot Red (I'm not kidding, that is the color name...) BMW M3 E36 4-door. Very hawt. Bright red Audi S4 with a couple of subtle mods... Hawt. Bright red IS300 is hawt. Even bright red Volvos look decent.

The Legacy so deserves Solid Red. WRB too, but Solid red is so hawt on the Blitzen.
