doobaruGT
Hi everyone, I just joined the forum and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything, good or bad, about any piggy back modules out there. I'm driving a 2000 LGT and I'm having trouble finding anything that looks worth while. Thanks ~ Adam Updated parts list since original part-out here. Original Full part-out of my LGT HERE! johnAWD
Piggy back for tuning? I've got a UTEC on my 05 LGT, which is a piggyback, and very flexible.
doobaruGT
Thanks, but does it make a difference that your lgt has a turbo and mine doesn't? do you think it might set incorrect air/fuel ratios based on a turbo engine, or is the device easily altered to fit the needs of the car? warrtalon
Piggybacks allow you to tune it however you want. It's not like you install it and it automatically sets you for a certain tune. You install it, then tune it...that's the point of a piggyback. It requires intricate knowledge of tuning theory along with the proper monitoring devices for AFRs, timing, and knock. There is probably very little to gain on an N/A, though, and this device isn't cheap.
rao
On a naturally aspirated car like your 2000 you can do all the "tuning" you want and you will not get any materailly gains. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
