And a random quote from one of the above threads: "I forgot to mention that the SPT guy told me an ECU is in the works for release with CARB approval." :icon_surp:confused::iam:

I forgot what I was supposed to remember.

Looks nice but such a waste of money of $200.

As opposed to the >$200 K&N or the $260 APS? And those are not MSRP prices...

I forgot what I was supposed to remember.

Looks nice... :)

Hope the quality is there.............

Would also be interesting to get some independent testing data to see how the flow is.

Looks nice and since i'm paranoid doesn't void the warranty (most likely). Do you think it would run lean though? I've been reading and most of the people here run lean without a custom tune

If this intake's gonna preserve warranty, then believe me, the engineers at Subaru definitely won't have it running either lean enough nor rich enough to "hurt" our engines any, at least not over the duration of, say, our standard factory powertrain warranty. :icon_tong

I would imagine that even if it does lean-out somewhat, on an otherwise stock vehicle, you'd be fine - besides, a slightly leaner ratio is what'll get you a little more power.

What's more concerning about the various aftermarket intakes is not that they lean-out the A/F ratio, per-se, but that it causes rather unpredictable (i.e. car-to-car variance, dependent to a certain - but not sole - extent on additional hardware) lean plateau(s) which can present difficulties when combined with varioius off-the-shelf aftermarket engine-management maps that may more aggressively moderate the A/F ratio.

Undoubtedly, when Cobb comes out with their own intake, they'll have it optimized for their off-the-shelf AP maps (or will optimize maps specifically for the intake) - but whether this SPT intake will prove to be compatible with aftermarket off-the-shelf EM maps, that, I think, waits to be seen. :)
