LittleBlueGT
Glad you finally got them! Really interested in if you notice much of a diff in the weight-loss in: 1) accelration 2) braking 3) suspension reaction Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!! praedet
Sadly, the arrival of the cold weather coincided with the install, so I can not comment on the decreased wieght's affect on acceleration (Stock 23ish lbs, iON's, 16.5ish lbs) But, the front suspension does seem to respond to the road a lot better, with better response on the large, quick bumps specifically. No more jarring on those bumps and the car does not hop in the corner due to those anymore either... Mostly though, the rotors have amazingly transformed the feel of the brakes. I have changed rotors a few times on other cars and never had the feel of the brakes change so dramatically. I guess the Subaru OEM rotrs are pretty soft. The feel, especially at high speeds, of the brakes is wonderful, and that is with a relatively low mu pad. Ted
LittleBlueGT
When you put in the iON pads (most notably the rear's with the slightly higher then fronts mu) let us know hopw the cars charachter is changed withthe different bias. I'll test it better this Spring Ted
Xenonk
or track pads btw, you didnt feel like drilling out the spot welds and just take off the shield off?? Keefe
praedet
I contemplated it, but for now int the winter, I left the shields. I might do it once spring comes around for better cooling...
Xenonk
I did an install for Crazy Ken's car and he just wanted them out of there.. I dont think it will effect the brake drum all that much.. Keefe
tekkitan
What did you think of the DBAs? I need new rotors (going front first) and was looking at the 4000 slotted. It looks like they rust quite a bit though.
