djmonkey841 Posted May 19, 2006 Share Posted May 19, 2006 Update for the anyone going on the cruise after the meet Red Rocks AWD Meet May 21,2006 Cruise Directions Meet/Greet/Cruise (set trip odometer to 0) 1. From the parking lot turn right and follow the road. When you come to the stop sign (can only make a left or right) go right onto Red Rocks Road Park. 2. When you come to the next stop sign turn left onto Bear Creek Ave. Travel .2 miles to Colorado 74. 3. On Colorado 74 turn right. 4. After traveling for about 3 miles on 74 you will come to Idledale. Continue on through. 5. After traveling 7.3 miles you will come to Kittridge. Continue on through. 6. At 9.8 miles turn right onto Meadow (look for the Sinclair Gas Station). Follow this road up. 7. When you come to the yellow left/right arrowed sign stay right and then go left (you want to travel in between the two yellow poled RTD signs. 8. At 10.8 miles you will come to Evergreen Parkway and Douglas Park Road. 9. Turn right and continue to travel on Evergreen Parkway. While on Evergreen Parkway you will pass 8 stop lights to I-70. 10. Merge on I-70 East and take the Genesee Park exit (exit 254). 11. At the stop sign turn right and then turn left and then make your first right (basically follow the blue gas/food/phone signs). Follow this short road up to Guidos Pizza in between the General Store and the Bike Shop. Lunch (reset trip odometer) 12. Pull out of Guidos and turn left at the stop sign. At the next stop sign turn right. 13. Go across I-70 and turn right onto highway 40 East. Follow the Buffalo Bills Grave Signs. 14. Go 1.2 miles and turn left onto Lookout Mountain Road (There is a white Animal Hospital building on one side and a small dirt lot on the other side) 15. At 2.6 Miles turn left onto Colorow and head towards the Nature Center (There is a light brown sign that tells where the Nature Center is on the right hand side of the road). 16. At 3.8 Miles pass the Nature Center on the right and continue down the mountain. 17. At the bottom of Colorow turn right onto Lookout Mountain and travel another .2 miles until you come to Buffalo Bills Grave. Turn into Buffalo Bills Grave. Buffalo Bills Grave will be the ending point. Take the backside of Lookout Mountain also known as Lariet Trail to get back to 6th Ave. Notes: ~If you get lost or something happens call Jon (Korean) 303.570.0224. ~Please obey the speed limits and travel no more than 5 miles over the speed limit. I would like to try and get as many cars to go on a longer cruise, but red lights and other drivers make it hard for such a big group to stay together....today's pack did pretty well driving together, and djmonkey- you guys all caught right back up to us after the red light... i had to stretch the yellow I had a good time for sure, and I'm ready for the next one.. I'd be down for a smaller LGT meet like last year. gt_ltd, and phamilton, good seeing you guys again. The drive turned out pretty cool, and luckilly Adam and I were almost first in line for pizza. The Legacy contingent looked great, I saw at least one Legacy model from every generation except BD/BG. My hot pager forced me to take off early, so I will be looking forward to the next meet.
