KZJonny Posted April 12 Share Posted April 12 This part is the same between OB and Legacy yeah? I’m pretty sure I’ve removed one at some point, but might need to again to re-seal my backup lights. xt2005bonbon Posted April 12 Share Posted April 12 should be the exact same. I think the issue are the fasteners. They rust. And I think there are a lot of them. If you find a black one let's figure out a swap lol As for removal, I found even with all nuts undone, it still didn't want to come off. I got to a point where I wasn't comfortable with the amount of prying I was having to do from the sides. I think eventually I used 3/8ths extension as a punch and went around tapping studs slowly and evenly until I could pry it off. The little studs do rust, but not really in a way that prohibited removal. It was lining up the 30 thousand studs with the tailgate sheet metal that made removal difficult. Obviously I won't use my extension punch to put the replacement back on, but I'm sure it'll be an awful time consuming experience lining it all up again where time x alcoholic intake will begin to work against me.
