A few things to get me started.

  • Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2
  • 12V to 5V micro USB output adapter (not photographed)
  • Natika backup camera (an Amazon product)
  • STI sport springs
  • Whiteline roll center kit (via the 20% mid-year madness going on)

Awaiting an OEM mirror harness to use the auto dimming/compass power for the Garmin and a Molex connector and pins from Digikey to connect the backup camera to the nav. Should arrive this evening.

Referenced (searched) a few threads regarding USDM spec.B Bilsteins and STI sport springs and opted to try out the GT automatic parts.

Fun for the weekend!

Springs, dash cam, and backup camera installed. I also swapped in some JDM taillights that came in.

Ended up with saggy butt, so I've ordered wagon springs in an effort to even things out (which I should have just done in the first place).

Removing the rear trunk lid panel was scary af, but I got it off with no incident. Found what looks to be a proprietary passage for a backup camera left of the license plate lights, so I used that position for my camera. That worked in a way that didn't require drilling into sheet metal. If I had to do it again I'd have mounted it further rearward because I ended up having to ditch the one body clip to allow for me to slide the panel behind the camera and into position to snap in.

JDM headlights installed. I learned there are a few variations available. What I opted for was the more smoked chrome corner with black housing and a bluish tinted projector surround ring.

I picked up a pretty beat up set on Ebay that were actually already stateside. I got confirmation that the HIDs worked so that was enough to pull the trigger. I used the Sylvania headlight restoration kit and they came out really good imo.

Disabled DRLs, used the OEM harness spliced into the ballast and it used the same high beam socket. Slim bar is parking light and big corner is signal. Even with an amber bulb in the bar it's obvious when signaling what the intent is.

Bilstein B8's installed and rear springs swapped for the ST2038021010's to help with the negative rake. It feels like I'm definitely getting more out of the STI springs than with the old (albeit relatively low mileage) OEM's. The shortened body is definitely noticeable for the front shocks whereas it's very slight in the rear.

The ride is definitely more firm, but I really enjoy the amount of feedback I get while driving now.
