Clear Headlights

I used to have a '91 Acura Legend and people would/are doing HID conversions all the time. And to tell you the truth, we have it pretty lucky because we already ahve the projector lenses. Back at acura-legend forum, we would also have to buy the houings from junked cars. We also have to do the baking thing. If you do it all yourself, there are excellent HID kits that cost around $300. Check out McCulluch HID.

I allways find it funny how when a car comes with silver lights they want to black them out and usually when they come blacked out people will still want them silver. I must say I am a fan of either way on the Legacy, those WR lights look nice, but the headlights I have look nice too. But I think everyone can agree that the orange has to go :) cleared headlights are the best.

what about the cutoff lines? i remember this discussion back when the jdm sti projector lights were an issue. do people not care about that? if you want the silver look id go for the edm stuff...might be a bit cheaper and with the correct projector cut off lines. ill have to post more pics of my front lights with the silvervisions now. looks so nice in the sun. :D

Philips' UK division makes a signal bulb that is silver when not lit and orange when lit; it's called SilverVision. eBay and foreign vendors sell them along with this place. Also, Osram/Sylvania makes a similar clear bulb that has a blue tint when not lit. The Sylvania bulb is called SilverStar Signal. I'm not too sure about fitment or availability of a size that the Legacy uses.

i just put the silverstars in the legacy to complement my cleared headlights...and they aren't really blue as the site link.its more of a pearl iridescent (purple, blue, red shades) 3157A is the size of the bulb in case you're too lazy to look in your manual. anyhow it made the headlights look alot better in sunlight. ill have to post a pic of it when i get a chance.
The '05 OB & LGT sold in Germany has the clear light assembly. I'll attempt to get the Subaru part number for these lens. Cheers, MS
Why? It's much cheaper to remove them.

JDM – Japanese Domestic Market (so JDM cars mean Japanese model, USDM US model, etc. The USDM Legacy doesn't get some good stuff the JDM one gets... :( ) check out http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572 for more basic terminology and acronyms.

Just cleared my headlights tonight... still have stock bulbs in, but looking online for the clear bulbs that blink orange. Anywho, tonight will be the condensation test... i'm pretty confident thought, i think the key step is heating the two pieces again before you put them back together. Also, wearing gloves is a great idea.... i DIDN'T, so now my finger tips hurt as I type this. I'll throw up some pics of the final product soon, not that you guys haven't seen it, but it should compliment the lip nicely.
