SIDrive
Replacing the timing belt and had the new belt almost on and the vice grip holding the two cams on the drivers side let loose and both cams spun. Am I ok with just realigning the marks? Or are there possibly multiple rotations for the alignment? silverton
you should be okay to reset the marks. turn the intake clockwise, and the exhaust counter clockwise. the driver side ones should be the easy ones that you can put on mark by hand. So long as the crank is still on its mark, you can turn the cams individually in the direction i stated without damage.
leetdrv
when the belt is installed and tensioner still locked, there is enough slack in the belt that you can move cam gears with a breaker bar/allen and skip teeth.

dgoodhue
After cam slip, you can just realign the cams with the marks. It only aligns one way. Personally I would buy the company 23 tool, it will make your life easier when realigning the cams. Otherwise you going to be fighting 2 cams that want to spin to get them in place to put on a vice grip.
