Max Capacity
Little more progress, they moved the piles of dirt around and seeded the lawn area. The driveway got measured and will hopefully be completed by the end of May. New driveway will come out 22ft straight from the left edge of the left door before the angle starts. The block wall will move a little as the asphalt will angle towards the edge of the concrete pads at the steps. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Max Capacity
Talked with the contractor yesterday, he mentioned the driveway may be more towards the end of June. The asphalt company is working with contractors, but are telling new customers that it will be next year before they can get to them. They are having a hard time finding people to work laying asphalt. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Max Capacity
Some progress, about lunchtime yesterday we noticed the driveway company put their sign in the front lawn and painted some white lines. Just heard the garage door people will be here Thursday afternoon to replace the top panel on the right door and lower the decorative hinge. (if you look in the photo above, you'll see the right door, the top right hinge, is on the wrong panel). I noticed that back in April. It's taken that long to get a panel. Just to add to the, "it never ends" when owning a home, having the water heater replaced today. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Tank, the heater sits in an unheated basement, which in January will get down to the low 40F range. So that makes a tankless not useful. 1 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
Driveway crew showed up on time today. Started at 8am, they filled the dump truck and are now, (2 guys) waiting for the truck to go back to the yard and dump its load. It's about a 30 mile trip back to dump the load, then back to the house. I can see why, not having enough drivers, causes things to slow down. They recycle the old driveway and dirt into a crusher and use it as fill. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Max Capacity
Got some good news today, while the builder was here to quote replacing the roof on the house, he got a call about the driveway. Max Capacity
Still haven't driven on the driveway, yesterday was 7 days. It's been hot most of the week, but now the weather has changed, this AM it was 52F. We'll give it one more day, maybe put the cars in the garage tomorrow night. I did spend sometime putting the wall back together, not finished with it yet, but most of it is there. I may take a few blocks off the top row to help it flow better. I don't want it too high over the red mulch. 2 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
New update, new roof is being installed today, yes, it's Sunday Oct 2nd. They had to replace a few pieces of the sheathing. I noticed some cupping while looking at the roof while riding the mower around. Wanted to have the roof addressed before it got too damaged. The old roof had none of the water barrier paper installed under the shingles. 1 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Max Capacity
Spent a few hours today cleaning up and doing some little things to make it look nicer. But there's always more things to do. The roofers were here till 7:15PM last evening. They showed up at 7:45AM One other small thing, we had the bathroom vent fan moved from under the eve's by the upstairs bathroom window to exiting on the roof. You can see the small flat vent exit near one of the white vent stacks. We were getting some black mold in the addict around the old vent. The thought is with the air flow in the addict, eve's to ridge vent. The normal air flow out of the old vent was being sucked up into the soffit vents and out the ridge vent. 1 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. whitexc
I installed an entry door in the garage last week. I was dreading having to cut the footer but it wasn't bad. Came out pretty nice. Need paint to match the other doors.
Max Capacity
That's impressive. Not sure I'd do well with the siding. Don't worry, I have projects to do. Last week I refinished an old garden bench that was a gift from an old friend that pasted away this past summer. Currently making a replacement "Wishing Well" to cover the Wellhead in the backyard. You can see the old one in my second post on page 1. The new one is a little bigger, so it will fit over the wellhead better. 4 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Max Capacity
Now that the drought is over, it's time to backfill the lawn around the driveway and some other areas. So far I've put down 3 yards of topsoil and seed, on the front lawn side of driveway, over the septic tank in the front lawn, (where they put the riser on to rise it to "code"), and around the big rock in the backyard by the fire pit. I still have the one side of the driveway to do and put some soil behind where the truck sits. I figure another yard of soil, it's $27.00 a yard from the place about 2 miles away. You can see the rock in the lower right side of the picture, taken Aug 2012, that rock is about 12' diameter, so digging it up is not an option. 1 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
