While idling, eyesight and blindspot disabled with CHECK ENGINE

Recommended Posts

It was 102f outside. I was waiting in the car with a/c running and idling, and both eyesight and blindspot disabled along with CHECK ENGINE light.. I restarted car and got the same warning lights, car seemed to run fine, no misfires. I happend to have my OB2 reader in the car.. After connecting, 2 DTC codes; 0072/ P0072. After clearing the codes, warning lights went off.. I restarted no warning lights, I restarted again and no warning lights and no codes after running scan again. My car is black and it seems the temp is displayed 5-10 degrees warmer.. I had thought, the temp sensor got too hot and threw a code?

Could be just a one-off hiccup.

If you want to dig deeper...

Quick check through the manual points to the Ambient Sensor (or wiring) fault.

Parsed-out the relevant data from my '16 which should apply to your vehicle.

You may want to replace the Ambient Sensor (less than $15) as a precaution or at least verify the connector is properly seated and wiring looks ok.

I do suggest removing the front bumper cover to make troubleshooting/replacement of the sensor easier.
