Jolbaru_LGT
So, I’m rebuilding the rear CV axles. I’ve got a generic boot kit for the rear inners, but the rear outer boot has a different looking bellows. I was wondering if anyone knew about this, or a part number? The only one I’m seeing is like a $40 part from the stealership.

Sometimes its just better to bite the bullet and pay the man... Lol.. I know what you’re saying. But this project is adding up. To do both sides, it’s x2 and I’m not seeing that this boot is a kit or anything. So I’d have to find the clips and rings and all that. Grease. Should I assume whatever rings, clips and whatever I have on the inners, fit the outers?
Max Capacity
Welcome to the "money pit"...you have joined the club... May be a combo of kits, OEM boot, $15.00 aftermarket boot kit will get all the clamps and grease, etc... IDK...if that is possible. Found this, look down a bit, say's Outback, but I think the shaft dia. is the same ? https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+subaru+rear+axle+CV+boot+kit&sxsrf=ALeKk005K9BT0CDl_o5NXAbFbxRvbRnANQ:1614369561516&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwie8_-hq4jvAhVFrVkKHQbsBIcQ_AUoAXoECBEQAw&biw=1280&bih=881 oh, I narrowed the search, for a Legacy GT, third one down... https://www.google.com/search?biw=1280&bih=881&tbm=shop&sxsrf=ALeKk017j-IXXNa7_9Ij71Lhh3SpArRM4g%3A1614369572258&ei=JFM5YJugD7LP5gLUpovgDQ&q=2005+subaru+Legacy+GT+rear+axle+CV+boot+kit&oq=2005+subaru+Legacy+GT+rear+axle+CV+boot+kit&gs_lcp=Cgtwcm9kdWN0cy1jYxAMOgQIIRAKUIGQDFjYqgxgpbgMaABwAHgAgAF4iAHpB5IBAzkuMpgBAKABAaoBD3Byb2R1Y3RzLWNjLXdpesABAQ&sclient=products-cc&ved=0ahUKEwibwo-nq4jvAhWyp1kKHVTTAtwQ4dUDCAw Edited February 26, 2021 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Jolbaru_LGT
Well, the megazip link looks mega complicated. I appreciate the effort tho. I'm trying to organize the parts via subaru website, and I'm almost in over my head. https://parts.wildesubaru.com/a/Subaru_2005_Legacy-25L-TURBO-5MT-4WD-GT-Wagon/49238451__6028582/REAR-AXLE-DRIVE-SHAFT/B13-281-02.html So far, I've got this: For the rear outer CV axle boot... PROP SHAFT SNAP RING. 723245020 Quantity: $6.43 CV JOINT BOOT 28423AG00A Quantity: $16.96 CV JOINT BOOT BAND 23242GA410 Quantity: $6.05 CV JOINT BOOT BAND 23242GA400 Quantity: $6.05 Does that look like everything? What about a CV Axle shaft seal? Do I need that?

Dishwasher
I used the OEM boot, but used Moog grease. It was fine. Brought to you by Pfizer
