mangry
It would be great to get clarification as to the purpose of the rectangle hole in the engine case, which opens to the top of the flywheel clutch area, and if theres a cover for it? I would appreciate some help.
Brighton96
It's to access the bolts for the torque converter and there is supposed to be a little rubber cover that goes over it, but the cover never stays in place and they usually dry out and get lost once they come loose. doublechaz
I had that cover the last I checked, but I've run more than a decade without it because what Brighton said.
mangry
"Thanks" I wasn't able find this out anywhere (puzzling). Now that I know. I would prefer to use the cover if I can locate one. Or just create something.
doublechaz
Check a junkyard. That's where I got the replacement for mine. Other options, if you have access, would be to make a part by 3d print. I'd make it a little undersized where it snaps into the hole and then build up a layer of RTV so it snaps in and stays.
mangry
Cars don’t stay long at the yards in my area, but thanks. I decided to order the Verus Engineering metal replacement part yesterday.
doublechaz
I didn't know about that. I hope mine is still in there because knowing there is a fancy expensive aftermarket part is a problem.
mangry
So the OEM part# 11413AA033 and listed as Plug-Timing Hole. Dealer price $6.13 and still available.
