rectangle hole in block

It would be great to get clarification as to the purpose of the rectangle hole in the engine case, which opens to the top of the flywheel clutch area, and if theres a cover for it?

I would appreciate some help.

It's to access the bolts for the torque converter and there is supposed to be a little rubber cover that goes over it, but the cover never stays in place and they usually dry out and get lost once they come loose.

"Thanks" I wasn't able find this out anywhere (puzzling). Now that I know. I would prefer to use the cover if I can locate one. Or just create something.

Check a junkyard. That's where I got the replacement for mine.

Other options, if you have access, would be to make a part by 3d print. I'd make it a little undersized where it snaps into the hole and then build up a layer of RTV so it snaps in and stays.

Cars don’t stay long at the yards in my area, but thanks.

I decided to order the Verus Engineering metal replacement part yesterday.
