roundthirteen
An issue on my 08 Spec B. So I had my passenger air bag recall service and at the same time they did the secondary air pump resistor??? recall. To set this up a while back a nipple on my evap purge solenoid snapped and it made a ticking/clicking sound (kind of like a bad lifter), an empty spark plug hole, or a missing vacuum line. So when they do that air pump recall does anyone know what vacuum lines they may detach? I wouldn't be surprised if this Northern Michigan Subaru dealership forgot to reattach something seeing they trashed my car and broke my Cobb AP in the process of doing the airbag recall work. I checked around the air pump and didn't really see anything but if any of you have any ideas of where it's coming from let me know. It was 100% not doing it before they laid hands on it. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
GEE-OTTO
Can you post a video of the ticking?
roundthirteen
Can you post a video of the ticking? The funny thing is you don't hear it under the hood, you only hear it in the car when it's idling. The same thing was going on with the hose snapped off the evap purge solenoid near the intake manifold. I'll try to get some clear audio. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
solidxsnake
I'm fairly certain the air-pump recall is just a relay (on the interior side of the firewall), but I may be mistaken. If so, though, it doesn't touch the vacuum lines or anything of that nature.
roundthirteen
I dug into the car over the weekend to check the hoses in the PCV/Evap system and I actually pulled the pcv valve (which I've probably overlooked for too long) and it was pretty clogged. Seeing I live in a geographical oddity where it takes a week to get anything I cleaned the pcv valve out and (crossed fingers) it seems like the noise has either quieted or gone away. I'll get a new PCV valve in there asap. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
