phuzaxeman
My car was barely a few weeks old and I still don't have my new windshield from Safelite. They keep telling me its on the way because its an oem windshield. How long did it take to order the oem windshield? Its been like 2 weeks. And subaru, shame on you for making fragile windshields. IcEWoLF
Wow, they should be hit by a lawsuit with all these bad windows! In before a recall is made. I’m already worried about my windshield lol...
ammcinnis
... subaru, shame on you for making fragile windshields. I sympathize with your disappointment that your windshield cracked ... but if you have objective data to support your assertion, let's see it! Otherwise, your anecdote is no more valid than anyone else's. Kirk1233
I’d be interested in knowing if the windshields are more fragile than they should be. I have a 2018 and had to have a stone chip repair with 2000 miles on it. That’s never happened to me in 23 years of driving.
IcEWoLF
My 2010 legacy still has a flawless windshield with no damage. I wonder if they switched glass companies.

First time any of my cars had replacements. Do the research, there's threads everywhere about legacy and outback windshield replacements.

With that assumption have you read all the posts that very few have had to replaced their windshield. Here is one using your logic ...... Buzz Oliver
My friend installs glass for a major windshield repair company, I inquired and it's not just Subaru..it's all of them.. He thinks the problem is the push for acoustic glass.

Pilot1226
I agree with acoustic glass possibly being an issue. I don’t have the specs but I’d be curious as to the depth of the Gen4 or Gen5 windshield glass vs the Gen6 glass
