YeuEmMaiMai
Man this just sucks a nut... Had my transmission replaced at 40K and now this has happened three times since I got the car back within 4K miles come to a stop and car wants to choke out and stall CEL and AWD flash a few times quickly and then car recovers.... Now at this point I am already peeved that the local dealers are NPF when it comes to how long it took my car to warm up. (I had to fix that myself). So my question is will this data be in memory on the car? I was unable to see any historical codes with my data scanner.. I am off to Subaru tomorrow so I need to know how they can get the data. Thanks,

FLlegacy
Did they do a firmware update with the new cvt install? I seem to recall reading about there being a new programming that also helped with this issue.
Perscitus
Yup all there in the 'how many miles on you CVT' mega thread... have the dealership flash the latest TCU update, perform the full SSM CVT relearn procedure, etc.
ehsnils
And no air leak in the intake manifold? Seems to be that age of the car where it could start being an issue.
YeuEmMaiMai
car is 4 years old and only 45k...
ehsnils
Oh - did look wrong, thought it was a '10. But it can of course still be a vacuum leak.

ehsnils
P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1) So I'd check the PCV, MAF and MAP first, then for any hose that's off or damaged (rodent?) Some logging might provide some additional info.
YeuEmMaiMai
well it is on Subaru now... they supposedly fixed it last Thursday...

YeuEmMaiMai
OK not enough time to duplicate problem but you know you got issues when they do a complete fluid change on said transmission that has only 4.5K miles on it...
YeuEmMaiMai
OK drove it to work and it wanted to stumble and die at two lights, going to wait until it sets the code for P0171 and go from there.

YeuEmMaiMai
ok got the data logger and found that short term fuel trim is randomly jumping up to 35%... that is just a tad bit aggressive..
cww516
Get out your can of ether and start wiggling things, sounds like that could be an intermittent vacuum leak, or a leak in the intake downstream of the MAF sensor. Any chance you're able to see how long those spikes last, and do the long-term trims look out of whack? Could also be a fueling issue, I suppose, maybe something's causing you to briefly lose fuel pressure. That's a bit of a reach, though.
