Blown turbo oil seal?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I think my turbos exhaust oil seal is blown.

06 Legacy GT, total 180k miles, 5k on short block, maybe 180k on turbo not sure if its been replaced or not since i've owned the car since 160k.

Haven't driven it in for 2 months, but this is what I remember. It started to burn oil out of the exhaust. Seems to only burn on warm starts and continues to burn for about 5-10 minutes of driving.

I have checked the intake side of the turbo and the intercooler is completely clean no evidence of oil. However the exhaust side of the turbo was covered in oil except for the turbine.

Here is a picture of the exhaust housing.

The top of the housing of damp, but the bottom is dripping wet if you couldn't see in the picture.
