gt350son
Hey guys. I think my turbos exhaust oil seal is blown. 06 Legacy GT, total 180k miles, 5k on short block, maybe 180k on turbo not sure if its been replaced or not since i've owned the car since 160k. Haven't driven it in for 2 months, but this is what I remember. It started to burn oil out of the exhaust. Seems to only burn on warm starts and continues to burn for about 5-10 minutes of driving. I have checked the intake side of the turbo and the intercooler is completely clean no evidence of oil. However the exhaust side of the turbo was covered in oil except for the turbine. Here is a picture of the exhaust housing. The top of the housing of damp, but the bottom is dripping wet if you couldn't see in the picture. bigBADbenny
Apart from looking for leaks from the turbo oil feed and oil drain, you'll want to confirm if the PCV and carter ventilation systems are blocked causing excessive crank case presure, in turn forcing oil out of the turbo bearings... gt350son
Thanks. When I get my hands on it I'll have to double check that the last shop reinstalled my air/oil separator correctly.

gt350son
I've checked the movement and it seems fine. Engine was replaced from the bearings wearing out, easier for me at the time to get a oem shortblock. Yea I am contacted him and he suggested I check the pcv system. GEE-OTTO
When my oil seal went I had the same issue except excessive shaft play on both axis. If you remove you IC and its equally as drenched you def need to look over the PCV
