bdcvg
Anybody running a Grimmspeed DP on a VF-46 turbo? if so did You modify or remove the divider tab?
m sprank
Sometimes you have to, yes. Remove it, if you try to modify it there will be so little left it is not worth it.
bdcvg
Thanks for the info. It looks like a high quality DP so I wanted to make sure modding it wasn't going to be an expensive mistake. I'm down to that or the Cobb . Catted.
m sprank
They both work the same. Gs is a little more "heavy duty" in build.
JazzAvi8r
I'm just pissed GS doesn't make one for the 5EAT. I'm in the market but I don't want Invidia. so that leaves just the Cobb catted version for me. Unless you guys know of something I don't.
bdcvg
Well the CNT is out there too but I see infamousperformance.net has the Cobb and free shipping.

Another option is the Maddad Shorty for the 08+ WRX (they indicate LGT fitment as well). Replaces the first section of pipe, and you retain the 2nd cat. I bit more economical route for 'stage 2'. But yeah, other than that Cobb I guess.
JazzAvi8r
^^^ and that fits the 5EAT LGT? I didn't think they made an automatic WRX
m sprank
The top portion of the down pipes are the same. The lower section is different. The MadDad shorty would work. Of what is still available for the 5EAT the Cobb is probably still the best overall quality. You have limited options.

In your exp. have you come across any Catted 3" DPs that don't stink as bad as catless? I guess a better way to ask it, are there any Ceramic catalyst 3" DPs in existence? Or will I need to make one:redface:?
m sprank
You would need to make one. 200cel metal cat is the norm for a hi flow.
08SpecB_DE
The Invidia downpipe is very nice, not sure why you want to avoid that brand. I had to cut the tab but I picked it up for a good price from a guy on Nasioc.
GEE-OTTO
Invidia was the choice I was leaning to with the cat up close it would get hot and minimize the smell. How bad does your Invidia smell ?
08SpecB_DE
I only smell it on warm up. I never smell it inside the car and I frequently have the heat on and/or the windows partially down.
