  1. I think I'll play it safe and just go with a MY05 LGT 5EAT if I can source one out. that certainly limits my options now. Before I do that, I'll put in some fresh fluid and replace the TCM. maybe that will fix it?!?
  2. looking at the part numbers. the MY05 LGT auto tranny is 31000AG120 the MY05 OBXT is 31000AG140 the MY05 FXT is 31000AG250 or 31000AG300 this is why i was asking the question. they are all considered 5EAT but since the genuine Subaru part numbers are different, it gave me concern. edit: here's the link i used for FXT with the auto tranny https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_2005_Forester-XT-Sports-25L-TURBO-AT/_52093_6021991/AT--TRANSMISSION-ASSEMBLY/S11-150-01.html
  3. i didn't mean any animosity. i appreciate the insight. just figured someone might be able to rattle off the answer before i was able to find it on my own.
  4. "think" and "should" are not words that give me the warm fuzzy. can anyone confirm?
  5. another Newb question: are all 5EATs the same? basically, as I'm shopping around for trannys, I just want to know what will fit in my car. i have to assume that OBXT and FXT with the 5EAT are the exact same as the LGT (both wagon and Sedan), correct? I just want to make sure before I drop some cash on a new one. thanks everyone for all your help.
  6. welp, I was at the Dyno yesterday. engine passed the smoke test and diagnostics. got the car strapped down, dyno calibrated, and did one WOT 3rd gear pull. P0700 and another code about the cam position sensor. car will start, but wont drive more than a minute before it shuts itself off. then I have to wait some time before the car will start again. Prior to the P0700, the trans worked great in Drive, but was laggy and rough in the sport mode (or whatever it's called on my 05 LGT). the tranny has 196k on it. is it time for a new tranny, or is there another diagnostic I can look in to? if I do need a new tranny, where's the best place to source one? I found one on ebay for $799. is that a fair price?
  7. Thursday cant come soon enough!! Cant wait to meet you in person, Dave!
  8. sub'd. good luck. I'm interested to see what you come up with to solve this problem.
  9. I guess i'll chime in. 05 LGT wagon 5EAT @ 200k miles Mishimoto TMIC, Borla catback, tranny cooler, stage 1 opensource flash, 15.2psi. looking to go catless UP and DP with a cryotune in the near future. I'll probably stay there for a while. when the engine finally dies (read: when wife blows it up), i'll probably go built and test the limits of the 5EAT. I'd really like to hit that 350WHP mark and call it a day, but I'm not pushing more than 16psi without ARP hardware and a replacement for my very tired and worn vf40.
  10. bringing it back from the dead. I recently purchased an 05 LGT Wagon and it only came with one key and one remote. I would like to have a spare key and remote because my wife is notorious for locking her keys in the car. here's the catch: the PO installed a remote start on the car where the trunk button on the remote activates the remote start. now, getting a new remote and programming it is fairly straight forward, the key is not. If I take it to the dealer to have a new key cut and programmed, it will clear out the aftermarket setup and disable the remote start. is there anyway I can clone the one key I have instead of getting another key with a different Tx code on it? Ideally, I'd love to do this mod from this post, but I want to keep my remote start. thoughts?
  11. Dave, sent you an email yesterday. new customer coming your way! cant wait
