Custom Subaru Badge Overlay Decals

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I know a few members have custom subaru badge overlay decals on their front/rear or steering wheel Subaru Logo badges which look nice.

I ordered from Ebay a set of replacement badges with black plastic surrounds (AUD $55) which I am waiting for shipment, however I was unaware of these decals at the time of purchase. I will post a pic of those below.

However I was hoping that anyone who is using these decals could share some close up shots of how well the decal sits on the concave badge, and what the material looks like. Does it appear shiny and nicely fitting as though it could have come out of the factory already on the car?

Also curious where you purchased/ordered yours from?

I was looking at this one website I found on Goolge and I like the option of being able to fully customize the colour from a wide range of choice, including carbon fibre texture etc.

I will have to wait and see how they look once received and will post pics once I have installed them (granted they fit). But I do like the fact you can match up the steering wheel badge with the decals.

These are tbe ones I ordered:

I've been wanting some overlays, but I just can't decide on a color. I was thinking Gray with black stars, but it may be too dark, and the gray might not be a good match.

Have you tried Photoshopping and see what looks best?

This is an awesome idea, I wanted to do the same with regards to rims and plasti dip options however my laptop which had photoshop died some months ago.

I have my phone or my work computer, I suppose I could try the Pixlr website.

Matte black and chrome

This looks dope and the fitment looks spot on. Where did you purchase from?

Do they take very long to make and ship?

Do you have a matching decal on the steering wheel?

Thanks! The kit comes with overlays for the front, back and steering wheel. I love the matte black and chrome look on the CG cars. I sold one of my friends on them too, but she got chrome and pink.

Here is where I got them:

Shipping took like 10 days IIRC.

Fitment is perfect. If you have a good eye and steady hands you can nail installation in one shot.

Seconding ProStickers/emblemoverlays.com. I have gotten three sets of different overlays from them since owning my Legacy, and all of them are fantastic. Fitment is perfect, they are durable as hell, and they look excellent. Plus the fact you get front, back and steering wheel is pretty sweet for the price.

They will also work with you to do custom designs, and even with that, the prices are still insanely reasonable. My most recent one, I worked up an idea for a Japanese Rising Sun overlay. I sent it to them, they communicated back and forth with me to get it perfect, and made it into reality. The quality is outstanding, and they even liked my design enough that they added it to the site. Highly recommend them.

So at first I thought those paddle extensions were stupid looking....buuuuuuuut now I think that I want some black ones.

You can get them here. 5th and 6th gen Legacy have the same paddles as the BRZ. (Personal gripe, it's kind of annoying how SubiSpeed doesn't even acknowlege the existance of the Legacy). http://www.subispeed.com/2013-subaru-brz/interior/steering-wheels/shifter-paddles/subispeed-mk2-automatic-flappy-paddle-extensions-2013-ft86-automatic-2015-wrx-cvt-2014-forester-xt-cvt

If you get them, I recommend installing them with 3M tape rather than using the provided set-screws. The screws will dig into your stock paddles and leave permanent marks. 3M can be easily removed with some heat or goo-gone.

  • 4 weeks later...

My overlays finally arrived 3 weeks later - chrome on black.

I'm not overly in love with how they look.

The steering wheel overlay looks pretty dope but the exterior emblems look both too close to stock and a little cheap and tacky.

In saying this, it could be due to a poor install on my behalf haha.

I'm thinking of matte black on gloss black for my next order.

My white legacy has exterior badge overlays carbon fiber black background with white stars.

It looks good, most of the ebay vendors have their own website that you can find for custom orders, if the auction doesn't state custom orders are available already.

I have done vinyl overlays on all my Subaru's, they last a long time and look good imho.

I think that looks great!

I agree in that it doesn't look bad, however I have ordered new setup like the below as I think it will look more stealth [emoji13]

Nice it suits your theme!

I think we need to consider blacking out the chrome surrounds on our emblems!

Once I receive my black on black emblem overlays, I am going to black out the chrome surrounds and also black out the badges!
