Ace37
Is it possible? Yes i know its meant for the intercooler and the N/A doesnt have it but would it fit? Call it ricey if you want but i love the look of it but couldnt find a GT and couldnt afford one. Im not worried about water getting in as i already have that worked out. Also are the hoods for the outback and legacy gt interchangeable? One parts website lists them together and marks them as interchangeable.
I Donated Too sigmafour Posted February 20, 2017 I Donated Too Share Posted February 20, 2017 yep. You can if you really want to.
amm203
You might get lucky and find someone who went FMIC and wants to swap with you if you have the same color. I believe 08-09 hoods are interchangeable between N/A & GTs. Your best bet is probably here: http://www.car-part.com/ You can search for 2008 Legacy hoods with scoops across a national database of junkyards. The junkyard guys don't tend to ship so you have to hope there's a hood that matches your color at a reasonable distance from your zip. Edit: Noticed you're in Savannah. I ran a search for you and closest junkyard with scooped Legacy hoods is about 200 miles from you.

amm203
If you use that website; Choose your model, year, and throw in your zip. Be sure to have "Hood" chosen under "Select Part" and be sure to choose "exc. Outback; hood scoop" option after you hit "Search". Then you can sort by mileage! JustCallMeNick
I guess all the non-car people probably think it's just for looks anyway. And arguably it's not any more ricey than my spiffy (Chinese) gold Konig rims.
Ace37
One can look at it as having some form of functionality since is does kind of let in more air per-se but just blows it over the engine and not actually cooling it from the inside
Ace37
Also just asking, but should i decide to turbo this model would i have to get the engine swapped also or just turbo, intercooler, blowoff, etc like standard cars?
CapnJack
They do make a turbo kit for your car and there was one for sale in the classifieds recently, but don't know if it still is. Otherwise you can buy new as well. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/socal-avo-turbo-kit-2-5i-many-extras-245943.html?t=245943&highlight=avo+turbo However, if you are looking for GT performance, you can still swap the engine, transmission, front suspension, ECU, etc, etc, etc. It is a very time consuming and expensive process that many will tell you to "just trade in your NA and buy a turbo version". It's a much less expensive route and will lend you with a more reliable car in the end.(compared to swapping the parts)

Probably do the suspension but honestly I wanna drop it maybe 2-2.5in. Thanks for the links
Ace37
Anyone know if a SRI (short ram intake) or CAI would work on this car? Ive heard mixed opinions but normally its the very first thing i do
JustCallMeNick
Even the moderately modified GT's on here run the stock intake. Usually intake requires time on the turbo car but I'm not sure about the non turbo models. The danger would be running lean which makes stuff hot and can do damage. Probably won't make a difference on a NA? Don't quote me...
The 2Fiver
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/avo-turbo-kit-1000-miles-later-162583.html Here's a successful AVO turbo kit on a 2.5i. It is easier than a motor swap but not cost effective if you're paying a shop to install it. This would be one you would want to tackle on your own and get tuned via opensource. A short ram intake and GT hood would be money and time wasted. You won't be fooling anyone when the sluggish acceleration of the NA 2.5i holds you back. Dumping the car 2" is very low. I was 1.5" on coils and while it was firm around corners and less squatty, the entry level coilovers were too harsh. You'll have to buy wider wheels too because going low low low on stock wheels will look silly. The 2.5i isn't a great candidate for a money pit. I had my CL Type-S dropped and my Maxima and have always loved the look.
