need bb
Is the rear O2 sensor required to for the the car to run properly? In my tune I had previously disabled the rear O2 from impacting fuel trims. I am debating whether to use the rear O2 when I re-install my DP. Thanks
Th3Franz
No. zero out AF3 and disable the codes. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
gimpydingo
Rear o2 should only be checking cat efficiency, so either keep it in or remove and disable to code. My rear o2 seized in the OEM DP when planning on a Stg 2 tune. I said screw it and I just plugged both the bungs on the aftermarket DP and disabled the rear O2 codes for the initial log. My tuner now has them disabled in his tune for me as well.
Cornerz
So essentially, no o2 sensor other than any wideband that is installed? Rear O2 on my Cobb DP is pre cat, and the pre turbo o2 sensor was deleted (used the resistor mod) when I installed the catless uppipe. Just got my 05 LGT back from engine repair. I've been taking care of installation issues since I got it back, and noticed this today.

The sensor in the uppipe in 05-06 models is an egt sensor, not an o2 sensor. You can delete the rear o2 sensor but it takes more than just removing the cat inefficiency codes. As pointed out, you also must zero out AF3 corrections in the tune to completely eliminate the rear o2 sensor from affecting fuel trims.

My brain was in limp mode, and I forgot about the front o2/confused it with the EGT sensor pre turbo
