300 Split...

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I'm not a power junkie, more of a handling obsessive. However I do like a balanced setup.

I'd like to pick your minds to find easy (if they exist) ways to achieve a modest 300 split (300hp/300ft/lbs).

Obviously I'm not asking to be exact, but what are some simple or affordable mods to get a modest boost in power and torque while keeping reliability a priority.

Any info or directions to associated links would be much appreciated! :)

Idk if I would go full turbo back right off the bat...boost creep in cold weather. Unless you want to, I believe it has been recommended to port the waste gate on the turbo if you can to circumvent this issue.

As Gteaser said stage 1 will get you the torque, do the ots stage 1 and if you want more go custom stage 1. Or imo just do a custom stage 1 and be done with it.

Depends on the dyno, weather and altitude too. Start with a turbo back exhaust and a tune, then see if you need more.

Is there an echo in the building? :)

That's the second post this "person" has just copied verbatim. It's a bot.

^True on the stock BPV Upgrading would be a wise move.

The Nameless DP should be just fine if you don't do a full TBE, but you're in Ohio so you can see colder temps and you've got higher air density than the mountain folks so you may still run the risk of overboosting unless you also port the wastegate during your upgrade to stage 2.

Would a nameless downpipe make that much of a difference?

Also, I've heard that the stock BPV is crappo, something about it being leaky?....

I wouldnt call it crappy, but it does have a limited use and is not meant for above stock levels of boost.

"Starts" is an understatement. I bench tested it. It's wide freaking open.

It's open at 0 and significantly at 5 psi. Obviously designed to prevent over boosting beyond 8psi at low rpm.

On the plus side it allows your motor to breathe past the turbo compressor , increasing off idle throttle response.

If you read the DP thread on nasioc, different design don't really matter and the difference in power is too small to accurately say which brand is better. However, being catted and the simple plate DP design are known to help with boost creep because they slow down the flow a bit. If you plan on keeping the stock IHI turbo, you will definitely want to port it. I got Invidia's 3" turbo back, ported OE turbo, racer X tmic + charge pipe, DW200 fp, AP3 and Synapse's synchronic BPV. Boost 18.5-19.5 psi pretty consistently, but when tempersture gets down to 40-50s, it can creep to 20psi. Making good consistent power for DD on pump.
