Jwellens
I'm looking into buying a front lip for my 06 LGT and I found this one for cheap and I was wondering if anyone else has this lip or knows of this lip and if this is a trusted website that doesn't scam. It says on the website that I will need to do "some modification to make the lip fit" and I was wondering what I'd need to do for it if anyone knows. Also if you don't mind, make me some recommendations on other front lips and post a pic of them if you have them. All input is appreciated. apexi
That lip looks similar to what WaspGT has in post #1101 http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4750624&postcount=1101 also what Hannya has in post #1135 http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5126975&postcount=1135 ej25_TS has in post #973 http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4363044&postcount=973 Maybe you can send one of them a PM if no one answers.. There may be more people in the thread below with that lip, but it's a long thread to go through. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/warning-06-wrx-lip-05-lgt-inside-132871.html
wesleyCrowbar
I have that lip and haven't got around to putting it on yet. I think I even bought it from that site. You'll have to drill 1 or 2 extra holes per side on your bumper take the holes match up, but I think that's all you'll need to do.
Hannya
The ChargeSpeed or CS Style lips are a bit difficult to mold onto the bumper. Depending on your Leggy whether it is a Zenki model (2005-2007: Easy) or a Kouki model (2008-2009: a bit difficult) you will need to use a heat gun to mold the upper part of the lip and flex it before it cools off and return to it's original form. I strongly encourage you to have a broski over to help you. Remove your front bumper and put it on a table large enough to look directly under the fascia. Next have your broski use the heat gun while you stretch the lip to mold into the arch of your bumper. This part usually takes two people, one to heat while one stretch and mold. Redundant--I know. Screw each end onto the bumper and bolt another Screw directly in the center but make sure you have set your lip to where you want it first; either more lip to the front or.... drawn back. Either or. Add screws along the lip and your bumper then you should be done. Aloha. Kai
freaksavior
I have it, and I do not want it. They charged me $40 to get it here, and after it arrived I decided I don't want to put in the work for it. It doesn't quite fit, and as Hannya said you'll need a heat gun and have to mold it to fit. JmP6889928
I just put on a Bayson R lip and it fits perfectly. They give you good hardware and everything lines up flawlessly. If you have a rack to put the car on-15 minutes tops. If on the floor-30 minutes tops. Definitely worth the money and time. Looks great.
JmP6889928
By the way, I also have the Auto City Import lip and it's an Impreza lip. It is not even close to fitting without major readjustment, so I bought the Bayson R because it was guaranteed to fit and they were absolutely correct. I'll cut you a deal on the Auto City Import lip if you want one. Brand new, back in the box.
battelready
II have it , talk about fitment issues. Also there are two different ones . One is PU and the other is abs plastic. I have the plastic one and it'll be harder to mold to the bumper. http://i.imgur.com/QAIU5pj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wsxP1BS.jpg I bought an auto be more involved in my uninvolvedness . 200k+ Club If you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. JmP6889928
You definitely did a nice job on mounting it. I was way too lazy to want to go through that much work. I built my splitter from scratch and tuned and refined and adjusted and modified and changed and altered so I've been through that already. I know I could have made it work and if it had been June, perhaps working in the garage when it's warm would not have been so bad. I just wasn't that ambitious. Must be age showing up...LOL
wesleyCrowbar
What's so bad about it? I bought the PU one specifically because it's easier to mold. I assumed that this wasn't anything a heat gun and self tapping screws couldn't accomplish

The Abs one offers more protection i guess as a curb feeler , just in case that is , plus i think it looks more sturdy. tvsubaru
I'm not about the low life with my car. I had one of the rubber 3M lips on my car and it didn't last a week before it got ripped off in my driveway. One of the guys that I go to school with has a saabaru (lowered) with a similar lip and his whole bumper is torn up from impact damage. It's just one of those things that looks so cool, but terribly unpractical unless the car has adjustable ride height (IE. air ride). JUst some things to keep in mind in your decision. Jaybird2013
I just put this lip on last weekend. I was fortunate enough to have an extra set of hands and the use of a lift. 10 minutes later, No fitment issues whatsoever. This is the one I bought: http://www.jnaperformance.com/jna-2005-legacy-gt-retro-fit-kit-high-quality-polyurethane-lip.html
battelready
Best way to get the lips on right is to take the whole bumper off and do it. Also if you do get a lip, just be mindful when you're driving. Dont go places that look steep because chances are, you want make it. Richard_Mtl
Watch out for polyurethane lips if you live in cold climates. They crack easily when temps are sub-zero.

oODanKNesSOo
I too bought the autocity import wrx lip... Am I the only one that thinks it looks the best? The curvature in the middle, coupled with the flares at the wheel wells just looks better then a straight (garage door looking) lip.. Now, anyone have any input on how to install? Came with 1x3 inch brackets, screws, push tabs, and even some rivets.. Which part needs to be heated? Do you install from middle out, or from the tires in? Any input would be appreciated!
