LewisI
I guess this has been previously asked and I cant find a clear answer. I have a Legacy 08 non GT with steel LCAs 20202AG180, 20202AG190 right and left. Can I use Legacy GT Spec-B Aluminum Front Transverse Links as direct replacement? I found flatirons tuning has them. I need to replace front -rear bushings, probably ball joints and thought why not just go for the complete aluminum LCA? Thanks,
Max Capacity
Have you checked the part numbers for you car and a GT ? if they are the same, which I think they are, they should fit. But really, other then little weight savings, what are you gaining ? you still may need to replace the ball joints and bushings in them. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Underdog
Yes you can use the aluminum LCAs on your 2.5i. If you buy them new they come with new ball joints and bushings. They are a tiny bit lighter but make zero practical difference on an otherwise stock 2.5i suspension. The Crimson Dynamo
whitetiger
+1, totally not worth the price new. they do nearly nothing.
LewisI
I sure agree there is no benefit vs. steel LCA. I was suspecting a damaged Steel LCA and the oem is 224 brand new, so it is pretty close to Al LCA. if one is damaged I thought I just replace both brand new. I will remove LCAs and inspect, hope to be able to reuse, I'm doing a lot of work on the car, it needs new front bearings, axle boots , machine front dba discs, new dampers...
