Scotty
That's nothing. I saw someone post the tracking number of a package that only had to cross 3 state lines on the east coast for 3 day delivery. It ended up taking 2 weeks and flew across the country to california twice.
mach_six
Heh, I guess if no trucks are going that way it ends up there first. I had a package from Maryland go to GA then back to NJ.
stifen
What happens is... the package gets scanned twice before leaving the hub. They're only supposed to get scanned once, and not like how you posted. Also the reason for rescheduling(for the most part).. As the package is getting unloaded, it gets scanned. That scan will say that it's out for delivery. But as it's making its way out down the belts/slides..sometimes it doesn't make it to the truck before they leave for deliveries. Or... the driver just doesn't even attempt to deliver the package. I've had it happen to me before. I just went to the hub and picked it up. mwiener2
UPS will hold a package to make it actually take the amount of days it's supposed to. Regualr ground is 3-5 days, so they may hold it two extra days even if it's at your local hub. hal9e3
Hope you get the parts soon. I do enjoy other peoples agony so either way I will be happy. UPS Sucks! Use Fedex. +infinity. FedEx Ground is usually about 1/3 cheaper than UPS as well. I use it for all my eBay and other sales and haven't had one problem. It's too bad more companies don't use it. eBay even tries to freeze them out by offering UPS and USPS as standard shipping choices, along with shipping calculation. If you want to use FedEx you have to choose 'Other'.

Regualr ground is 3-5 days, so they may hold it two extra days even if it's at your local hub. No we don't. Example: If I order from Tirerack, their warehouse is in DE, I'm in PA (metro Philly area) so I always get my stuff the next day - even by ground. FedEx on the other hand, will hold stuff. Another example: Newegg has a warehouse in NJ, it should get here the next day, but unless you upgrade to overnight, they usually hold it for a day or two. BTW I'm a UPS driver. stifen
BTW I'm a UPS driver. I drive the package cars around the property, if that counts. But in all seriousness, the biggest reason why packages are held for another day is that they don't make it to the truck before they leave. Scotty
Ground packages leave ASAP. Stuff shipped by air will be held. I sent out a package for 3 day air from California to Connecticut on a Friday. It got to the airport 15 miles away by that evening. It sat there till Tuesday evening when it got on a plane. By 3am Wed, it was in Conn. I worked at a place where we got a lot of stuff from a distributor in Reno. Somehow even if the two major roads are closed due to snow, UPS has always been able to get through.

Well I'm going to disagree because on numerous occaisions I've seen UPS tracking very clearly indicate a package waiting up to 3 days for UPS ground just so it won't arrive early. Imagine the nerve of that?

SSN666
FedEx is not a lot better from my experience. After waiting 5 days for a package, I checked their tracking system. It said that it was on the delivery truck at 9:35 am. It was not delivered until the next day.

rkl303
All I know is USPS ground has screwed me twice(never got the product and couldn't get a refund). Also I am never told that my package has been dropped off at my community center...so days later I am wondering if the shipper screwed up.
emorphien
I have rarely had trouble with DHL but in my experience of shipping stuff I liked the service I received at UPS centers best, followed by the USPS. The Fedex people are grumpy usually. As far as who I prefer for having things shipped to me I have had the best experierences with Fedex, then USPS then DHL then UPS.
