GFXDave99,

I'm not sure if you've tried putting everything back together, but not everything lines up. Since the bezel was for a right hand drive vehicle, there will be a gap on the right hand side, and quite a tight fit on the left. Also, the shift boot/ashtray assembly (the small tabs that slot underneath the A/C contols) will need to be shaved a bit. I was a little too anxious and went ahead with my radio install and shut the car off with the A/C settings that I wanted. I'll post pics later tonight. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Update : Daswrx has agreed to take a look at it (same guy who did the amazing cut the board in half job) and see if he can get it to work.

He has provided his address and it will go out to him priority mail on monday.

I keep forgetting to post those pictures. I'm in the Military and my job has been hectic for the past week. I don't foresee this to end anytime soon either! I'll definitely post the pics up today. Also, the Hazard light will not fit with the current JDM position, some of the plastic has to be cut (I haven't gotten around to do this yet, my Dremel broke!), so you'll see that I didn't mount the hazard light in. In fact, it's kept underneath the shift boot for now. It's definitely good news that we have one more person trying to figure this out... Take one for the team DasWRX!

I tried to take clear shots of the gaps, but I guess there wasn't enough lighting to really bring out the detail. I think you'll still get the idea. Enjoy!

wasnt daswrx able to change the radio and keep dual zone?

wonder if he'd be willing to provide his services over the mail? IE send him your dash and board.

Yes which is why i figured if anybody could make the single zone work it would be him :)

Okay guys im sorry its taken me so long.. its just really hard when you are breaking bad news..

I hope das doesnt mind me quoting his PM

hey.. well i've got it to work, "in a way". ok .. i've found some of the missing wires from the plug, got the lights to come on, got the fan, defost, heat, well every thing except the driver side heat it stays on that temp you left off. and the display wont come on so you wont know what setting your at. the controls panel runs off though two data wires and there should be a JDM receiver unit thats is diffent from USDM that controls the heat dual climent. the JDM controls is made by Kenwood and the USDM one is made by Panisonic so its two differant co. thats all i can come up with. well i wonld'nt know if i burnt out the IC chip or something to couse the display not to work... unless i can get a hold of anther unit and see if thats it.

Unless somebody has any more ideas...

What i would like to do now is while I know avo wont give me my money back (i knew that going in) I would like to ship the unit to a willing owner in either AU or JP who is willing to see if we broke it in the process of testing or what my hunch is that when plugged into a AU or JDM/single zone non US car it will work fine.

Which then leads us down two roads. If it works fine then we can A> Unfortunatly put a nail in the coffin of this ever working and B> hopefully one of my overseas brothers can buy it off me at a discount (since it has been around the world and all)

The remaining road left to hope is if when hooked up to a JDM spec car it doesnt work anymore. Which sucks for me but leaves a glimmer of hope of this working. I cannot find the post off-hand but I do know another US member did buy one in hopes this was going to work. I went back, it was S0CalGT who bought it.

So actually maybe the best bet would be if S0CalGT could send daswrx his unit first. That way if it doesnt work either then it makes since for me to send it off to whatever country a member is interested in trying it. If S0's does work by some miracle then we know i have a bum unit and have a glimmer of hope.

In the meantime i think im breaking down and getting a pioneer N2
