gimpydingo Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Lo jack? But seriously I have no idea. Interested to know just to know. Pick yourself up a drug runner?
mikeh Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 I think it is something to do with an ancient Bluetooth phone thing and/or an aftermarket alarm cos I cut a wire from it now the alarm plays up
mikeh Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Yea looks dodgy. Guess ill just leave it in there. Ive found so much unnecessary crap hidden in this car that has caused so many problems, why do people do this to us...:-?
travrach Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I think it is something to do with an ancient Bluetooth phone thing and/or an aftermarket alarm cos I cut a wire from it now the alarm plays up Yup, remove it all, may take sometime, but worth it to get that junk out!
AkumaMax Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 one of two things come to mind. Either a lojack or a disable system. Disable system is for finance companies to disable a car if the car is behind on payments
Gire Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Likely an aftermarket alarm brain. But that 4th pic with the 'telephone' module on the black box says something more nefarious. We don't have Lo-Jack in my neck of the woods, but that might be it... At least when I sold my car, I removed all traces of an old Compustar that wasn't working anymore... some folks have no shame.
gimpydingo Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 DIY remote starter or a car alarm. http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/20/the-diy-10-prepaid-cellphone-remote-car-starter/
mikeh Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 Yup, remove it all, may take sometime, but worth it to get that junk out! Might be a bit of a mission and I might **** something further haha
Arejaytee Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Take it to a local car audio shop possibly if your not comfortable taking it out. I would charge 40 bucks to remove easier devices when I did that stuff professionally. Or just trace each wire back to where it goes, fix any damages caused by the install. Shouldn't be too hard.
