3D printed 8" Tablet bracket

Hay guys thought that I would show you what I just made. Its a Bracket that holds a Samsung note 8" tablet. I wanted something that looks fairly stock and to not have to modify my car at all. This is what I came up with. It holds the tablet right in front of the radio and clips on the side of the air vents so no cutting and removing the radio or anything like that. There is a hinged door on the right side that allows me to remove the tablet and also be able to plug it in. Also all of the buttons on the tablet are available. Im really happy with how it turned out.

Very Cool! Functional and good looking too.

I'd love to do something similar to my car. Any more details on how you built it?

The first thing that thing that I did was to figure out the curve on front of the faceplate. I got a rough estimate of the radius of the curve and and then printed out a template to try it out. It looked like this.

Then once I figured out both radius (they were actually different on top and bottom) Then I made my CAD model of the faceplate. it was a little tricky to do because I dident have my tablet yet but I was able to make the base and fit it up to the car for fitment. Once I did get my tablet then I was able to reverse engineer the dimensions of the tablet and put them on my faceplate bracket. After a lot of trial and error I got everything fitting like I wanted it to. I had to make the base in two different parts just becaus my printer wasent big enough to print the whole thing at once. Lots of it was just guessing the size of things and printing it out and seeing if it would work and just keep doing that untill it fits lol. But in the end this is the assembly that I came up with. as you can see it all comes together with the pins and then just glue it.

Thanks for showing me that. I dident know that there was a 3D printing thread! im sure that I could adapt the bracket to fit the Nexus 7 seeing as it is only a 7" tablet. But I would need detailed dimensions of the whole thing, button location, screen size and location etc.

I'd be in for one like now! Galaxy tab 4, 8inch is what I have even if you don't do a production run I'd be willing to purchase one directly from you. Shoot me a pm with a price and we can take it from there.

Only trouble, not to discredit you, is you are a relatively new member check in with some of the moderators first before doing a 'group buy' unapproved vending isn't something let slide. Just looking out for.

Kudos to you for the great work and bringing your imagination tonlife.

If you have a Samsung phone iirc 4.2 android or higher along with the newer Samsung tablets you can use an app called SideSync. It basically mirrors your phone onto the tablet.

Poor video but you get the idea ..Samsung Galaxy Tab S Demo SideSync 3.0:
