Newsubaru15
Sorry another thread. I have been having a heck of a time finding touch up paint in crystal white pearl for the 2015. Is it backordered?
laz
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/subaru/2015/legacy/?new=yes Crystal white is a 3 stage paint. Base coat, pearl, and clear. You'll get the basecoat and pearl in a touch up kit. It never matches well. ---
Newsubaru15
The parts guy, at the same dealership:roll eyes:, said the paint is not even available yet in their system. How long has the 2015's been out??
laz
Maybe from Subaru, but paint can be mixed in any color. Some is more expensive than others. Just order from online. ---

laz
Really? that is extreme for touch up paint. Even Subaru does not use Subaru paint! Regardless there are many variations even within the same color code. These guys are great as well. I used to have a pearl white '05 Legacy and bought paint from them: http://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_paint/Subaru/Legacy.html And this is what Subaru uses: http://www.uspaint.com/cases/color-harmony.html ---

dgoodhue
Has the paint quality improved on the 2015 compared to the 5th gen Legacy? The paint on my '12 is my only real big complaint about my car.

typer98
OEM paint is definitely available. Had my front end resprayed carbide gray and they gave me the extra for touch up.
laz
That's not OEM paint, it's just paint. Even the Subaru touch up paint is made by some paint company. There are different qualities of paint, but in a paint job the quality of the clear coat matters more than the paint, unless it's a special metallic or pearl. Anyway you won't be really using clear coat in a touch up. You can even use a different color that is approximAte in a touch up and it will all look the same. ---
Cuttlefish
I've ordered twighlight blue spray paint from Automotive Touch-up. Painted side mirror garnish with the paint. Can't tell the difference between paint colors with my eyes.

crudzinskas
Amazon also has all of the colors. Depending on what size you need it's about half the price of colorndrive. https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Subaru-J361SAL000-Touch-Up-Crystal/dp/B00L4JRB6C

vtdog
I just clicked on that Amazon link. I paid $ 3 less at the dealer for a bottle of the Passion Red. I don't know if it is because I bought the car there, but that is what they charged me.

vtdog
Yeah you are right, its a 2016 and it is Venetian. As far as I am concerned it is "red". Who give a shit what they call it as long as it matches
legacy111
I've had excellent success with this product. I've used it for rock chip repairs on my previous car and on my current 2015 Legacy which is Crystal White Pearl. Hope this helps! http://www.drcolorchip.com
