ScoobyLife
Here's some pictures of my newly installed gauges! The pro racing series gauges. Boost is connected but still waiting on my oil Temp Subaru plug adapter. Believe me it looks alot better in person!

devobuzz
I did exactly the same thing this weekend. I want to put in a oil pressure gauge instead of temp though. Let me know if you find a connection point on the engine for one. Does your cover close and did you hook up the gauge lights? Ralph
jim1969
take pics at night of the boost. How hard was the cubby modification?
DickDastardly00
That looks good! I'm going to put the gauges in the same place eventually. ScoobyLife
Yes cover is still completely functional, for the ground and ACC connection I used the DRL connection not being used for DRL (disabled for HID's).
ScoobyLife
The gauges were easy, making the Bezel for them was the hardest part due to measuring about a dozen times and cutting the holes perfect to hold the gauges.
ScoobyLife
On a side note: I didn't cut anything whatsoever to the cubby, its still in perfect condition. I ran the boost line out the top where the LED use to be (pops right out), I ran the right gauge wires out the right small hole in the cubby and ran the left gauge out the left small hole. The Bezel holds the gauges straight, the gauges will hold themselves in place (they wedge in just enough not to move) and belive me they do not move at all ( but I can get them back out without any problems and they just slide back into place). ScoobyLife
Hey Devobuzz I just found this (it seems to be the same fit as the sensor that came with the gauge 1/8th NPT) LINK<-----------------------------------------------

dougc
Looks good. I like that you can still close the lid to the cubby. That radar detector looks just like mine.
waterdish
Yeah I have a Beltronics Vector 990 International... looks just like that. DickDastardly00
They are pro racing series gauges (Defi look-a -likes). I'll try and get those dimensions for you next time I take it out (maybe this weekend) Man I can't find these gauges online anywhere. Is that who makes them, or just what they are are called? Also, is there a kill switch for these gauges? Say you are driving at night but you have the cubby door closed, if the gages are on, I would think the cubby would be glowing or something. But if there is a kill switch, then you could simple turn them off when not in use. ♪Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.♫ -Bob Marley, Redemption Song
ScoobyLife
Here is where I got the gauges from: LINK<-------------------------------------------- If I remember right when I close the door, I couldn't see any trace of the lights (but it wasn't in the dead of night when I tried that). ScoobyLife
I'll get the measuerments on the bezel tonight hopfully. I used the power from the DRL (Daytime Running lights) that I disabled for my HID's, I used a 2 in hole cutter (used for drilling door handle holes for doors, and a little sand paper after to make them fit just right). The gauges fit just right in the cubby and wedge just perfect to not move (the bezel just keeps them spaced just right and makes it look professional). I searched this site on previous installing guages in the center cubby and just adapted the use of the DRL connection I had avalible.
ScoobyLife
I also tried to take pictures at night but my camera doesn't like the dark for some reason. Believe me they just look amazing at night (perfect match with the dash). But SVXWRX got some good night shots you can look at: LINK<--------------------------------------------------------------
ScoobyLife
The gauge Bezel size is: Length = 5 3/8 " Height = 2 1/4 " Depth = 1/8 "
ScoobyLife
I also went into my dark garage to see if the gauges light the surrounding area while the cubby is shut and their is no light showing from anywhere while shut.
mccorry
I couldn't get mine to fit in the cubby (same gauges) with the door... Nice job figuring that out! My oil pressure gauge is flaky... I have to return it for a replacement.....
ScoobyLife
Yup, there is just enough play to squize them in (at least when the cubby is removed and has a little more play).
