kzr750r1
May not be getting contact or wrong value. To be sure about contact, cut the EGT sensor plug and solder the resistor to the two leads. Leave your self an inch or so of wire from the plug. R0BL3GACY
I can't solder, no experience or tools. I bought the pack at radio shack and went through 3 of them thinking i was doing it wrong. It is grey with orange inside. I made sure the two prongs went in all the way and still nothing. Is it bad to be driving around with a cel and flashing cruise control light?
R0BL3GACY
I did get the correct ones, just checked the part number.

Max Capacity
You must have some other issue or the wrong resistor. I just plugged mine in, put some tape over it and drove off. The 2.2k ohm resistor from Radio Shack, I paid $1.25 for a package of 5 of them 3 years ago. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). R0BL3GACY
I used covertrussian's thread, checked the part number and it's the same one. I'll check with radio shack and see if it's possible i got the wrong one. It looks exactly the same as the one in the picture. What else could cause the CEL? Max Capacity
Oh have you checked the code yet ? any auto parts will tell you the code for free. and 05's have a built in code reader. https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+subaru+built+in+code+reader&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-ContextMenu&oe=&safe=active&gfe_rd=ssl&oq=&gs_l= I have it at home but not here at work. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. kzr750r1
^do you mean as in which way they go in? i switched them and still nothing. in the walk through it says it doesn't matter but i tried that anyway and still getting CEL. It's a resistor so should not matter what end goes where not polarity specific.
R0BL3GACY
I'm sure its the EGT sensor that's causing the CEL. I'll check the code. I just dont know why the resistor isn't working. I don't have a way to delete the CEL. Does it matter if you touch the end of the resistor? or if cutting it somehow makes it not work?
kzr750r1
If you get the resistor in play. I think it's after four or six restarts of the car it will clear limp mode.
R0BL3GACY
^ Ok I'll wait and see if it clears. I'll keep you all posted.
R0BL3GACY
I'm on my fifth restart and still getting CEL. Anybody in Utah that can help?
FJuan
You'll need to pull the code, the CEL could be related to something different, otherwise you could be guessing at this point. My wife's balls are delicious.
R0BL3GACY
so the code i pulled was P0328 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor) is this related to the egt sensor being taken out? it was an invidia up that was installed and taken off a members 05 lgt. kzr750r1
Shouldn't be, probably something else. To really get to the bottom of it your going to need a tool to log the running condition of the motor to help isolate why it's knocking or identify a bad sensor. R0BL3GACY
so I found out it's my O2 sensor going off.. but why!? the throttle body hose is on tight, checked all the connections.. I didn't mess with any of the O2 sensors for the up pipe install, idk what else to do ;/
kzr750r1
They fail. Go get another. I replaced mine after getting lucky once on my first up pipe replacement. Need to buy another since this one galled bad on the way back out.
R0BL3GACY
okay, ill call subaru and get one. where is the O2 sensor located?
kzr750r1
There is an Air Fuel sensor just below the Up Pipe connection and an O2 down stream before the last CAT. You just made me realize I was referring to the AF sensor in the manifold I need to replace. No, they are not cheap.
Max Capacity
okay, ill call subaru and get one. where is the O2 sensor located? Pull the right front tire, there's a plastic panel behind it, remove the panel. O2 is right there. Make sure you get the correct one. I think its got a gray shielding on the wires. The yellow shielding is the rear sensor. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
