imprezkid
Car: 2008 Subaru Outback XT w/ AT ( more activity here) Backstory: Drove home from work last night, parked car. Went to start this morning and no crank on start attempt. Thoughts: Had a fuel leak under the manifold, thought maybe wasn't pressuring up so fixed the leaks and nothing changed. What it's doing: I go to start, gauges sweep like normal, fuel pump primes. Turn key, fuel pump kicks in but no clicks or cranks or anything. No codes unless I hold it for a while then the cruise will flash and crankshaft and Camshaft codes will though I believe p0345,340,350 codes. This only happens if I continue to hold the key in the start position. Checked: fuses, starting in both drive & neutral, brake pedal depressed of course. Fuel leaks, harnesses, disabled the security system per cars101. Any help/thoughts would be great! Thanks in advance
12sechatch
Check the battery terminals. Loosen them, move them around a bit, then re-tighten. Sounds simple I know...but do it. report back.
imprezkid
Had them both off and reinstalled, no corrosion, nothing out of ordinary. Tightened back up
12sechatch
No clicks or anything says to me the starter might not be acting correctly.
imprezkid
The fuel pump kicking on makes me think that everything is ready for start but the starter isn't kicking over. It's never made a bad noise, problem starting before? Any ideas on starter fuses/relays I should be looking for?
