Dead Mr.
I have gone back and forth with that. Part of my likes it because it goes with the chrome strip on my grill, side skirts, headlights, and taillights and it accents the fact its flared. The other part of me doesn’t care to paint them black because if I repaint this car this summer I will most likely mold them so.. They are stainless so they won’t rust but you're not the first to suggest that so maybe I will just do it to be liked more lol. If I get the Cmod Grill I will black all the chrome out and go with black fasteners but i want to try the mesh first and see how that looks because think the chrome breaks up the black and keeps a little luxury in the car instead of just being another murdered out Legacy that everyone thinks is an Audi A6.. GEE-OTTO
I like that idea about the luxury and you are right if is murdered it does look like a Audi. I think molded flares painted to match and a chrome grill along with maybe chrome rocker moldings and maybe even hyper silver wheels would exude class! BoozeRS05
Closely followed your 99 sedan build, can't believe I just now stumbled on this one. I love the 3.0R sedans. One of the only cars that I'd give up my wagon for, its the perfect DD. I have been focusing on getting a car I have been working on for a buddy out of my shop and then I can get my MR2 going again because its summer time and I need the car with party mode (t-tops) Build Thread to my 3.0R Build Thread to my Super Crazy MR2

Duderotomy
Johann, what are the specs on those flares? I'm looking for a set to put on my BH-chassis and the ones you used look to conform to the body nicer than most other flares.

Dead Mr.
I order them from a guy in qty of 5 sets. I had 1 set left but I think its sold if I can get another 3-4 interested I can order up another batch. Price is 180.00 plus shippin for the set and these are universal but they fit the legos oh so nice... I can post some new pics in a few days. Shes got a bike rack her now to take my DH bike to whistler. As far as any progress I haven't had time to make the exhaust or finished the rear brakes because my money has been tied up into going into my tattoos. I can post a few pics of the frankenru I've been workin on though. I always wanted to put a GC8 front end on a Bugeye chassis and it came out pretty amazing... Its got the same flares on as my Lego and MR2. They look good on everything! I suck at freehand but the vision was there. This has pretty deep significants to me I know on the outside they just look like Anime chicks but it has a meaning and a story so respect is greatly appreciated. I have my arm 90% finished, my back lined out, and we are lining out the chest piece Friday. I'm pretty happy with it. I am going to start drawing up ideas for my right arm and my right side under it but this pieces was finished product number 6 after 5 years of thinking about it I finally came to something and was like "yes... thats it" Anyhoo you asked for pics so heres what I got lol. Blue GT
I followed some of your threads on nasioc and loved the old legacy you had. I have a tremendous amount of respect for your ability to just go build shit. It's awesome! Flares on a legacy no problem, adjustment bracket so the rear wheel sits centered while lowered, piece of cake, gr front end on a newer wrx, walk in the park. I may not love everything you do but I have to respect the progress, and style in which you attack it. Keep doing man keep doing.
Gex
Is that a marzochii shiver on your bike? I ran a monster T on my old turner dhr. Bike was such a tank! Also looks like the top of A-Line. One of my favorite trails to ride.
Dead Mr.
Yes its a shiver and yes thats a-line. I like freight train, to dirt merchant, to lower a-line, to glc drop.. Thats my jam. Collin9338
dude those most recent shots of you flared legacy just made up my mind for me lol once i start this job in august i will be grinding it out to get a similar look on my 2.5i, can't wait to raise my car a little and rock the flares, way more aggressive looking that being really low. till then ill remain a tad bit slammed haha
Dead Mr.
Yeah my car only rubs with 3 or more in it and a trunk full of camping gear w/ 2 DH bikes on top. I am really happy with it. The stance is pretty much perfect for what I was going for. So little update... MR2 is almost ready to go. Got the new wheels and tires. Added the wider front flares, cut out more of the wheel wells and took off all the brake crap. I ordered new everything. Calipers Pads Rotors Master cylinder Bias Block Extended Wheel Studs All in preparation for adding my new EVO brake setup in the next few months. Once the 2 is road worthy again the Lego will be going in the shop for her last few mods for the year. Wheel Bearings Roll Center Kit Front CV Axles Rear STi Conversion E-Brake Pads Girodisc Rear 2pc Rotors EVO X Rear Brembo Calipers Modified 350z SS Headers Custom Dual 2.5" SS Exhaust Relocated Battery Custom Dual Filter Intake Then sometime next year when I get the settlement for my wrist the plan is to... EZ36R Block Ported Heads Ground Cams Custom ITBs (Using Hayabusa Throttle Bodies) Vipec V88 Maybe a WRX 5mt Swap At some point I will repaint it, but I don’t know if I want to stick to the all black look or make it a color and paint the wheels a lighter color. I really want to try and make some rocket bunny style flares for it out of foam and go for more of an aggressive look. Time will tell.. Updates to come in prolly a week or 2 Johann Edited July 9, 2014 by Dead Mr. Build Thread to my 3.0R Build Thread to my Super Crazy MR2

zippob98
what happened to your wrist?
Dead Mr.
I was rear ended in my MR2 and I broke my wrist on the steering wheel. It required two surgeries and left me with 40% of the strength and 60% of the mobility my wrist should have. It also starts to hurt when I over exert it so typically I need to work slower and smarter on cars now and the more I do the fester it will deteriorate so I pick and choose my projects based on if it worth the strain on my wrist. Luckily it doesn’t hurt while biking for now because it’s not a lot of movement and I haven’t crashed hard yet… lol Build Thread to my 3.0R Build Thread to my Super Crazy MR2
