Shello007
Anyone familiar with this? Cheap knock off? just asking...seems pretty similar to Grimm's http://www.ebay.com/itm/S2-Industries-AIR-OIL-Separator-Subaru-WRX-STI-VERSION-AOS-/151207715731?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2334aea393&vxp=mtr#ht_890wt_1224
KRM
It works the same as grimms. China knock off. Plenty of reviews on nastysock about it
Max Capacity
Mine is a different brand, not sure I'd do it again. Mine has two ports. Shello007
Gotcha. May take the chance with the Grimm then. Don't want that to be my weakest link. Thanks Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Moderators BarManBean Posted January 16, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 16, 2014 Grimmspeed AOS has show to be a bit of a faulty design, just FYI. Shello007
Grimmspeed AOS has show to be a bit of a faulty design, just FYI. Was doing quite a bit of research and on Nasioc they were going back and forth debating which is best. Thanks Barmanbean... Moderators BarManBean Posted January 16, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 16, 2014 As far as I know, there's not too much of a debate anymore--under certain conditions (mostly track conditions) the GS unit seems to kill motors. You could argue for a lot of folks who don't track their cars that it's really a non issue, but why take the chance especially if you are looking at the current group buy that makes the prices pretty close to the same. I'm also leaning towards the Crawford myself because it removes the PCV setup--I think the GS setup leaves it in place. I figure removing it is one less thing that can fail down the road. chato
done a ton of reading on this. I think you can also build a really great system with a two $30 ebay catch cans. There plenty of good DIY on how to turn those ebay cans into useful catches with the addition of steel mesh. The two can system and its logic is explained well here (eventually) as well as how the crawford AOS works: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2-5-liter-litre-factory-motor/146699-official-sti-engine-venting-o-separators-catch-cans-thread.html
rob-2
When I was debating needing this product it was because I had lost compression. If you have a lot of blow by this isn't a fix. Find the case. I would avoid it personally. Even at $150 I think it's a rip off.
