idontknow
I've got an 06 leggy gt with 120k miles and suddenly its started losing oil at an alarming rate of about a quart every 1000 miles! There are no signs of oil leaks in the engine bay or driveway, no loss of power, no smoke from the tailpipes, and compression is fine. I'm at a loss here! Where the heck could that much oil be going without leaving some sign of trouble? Any ideas? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Moddiction
How do you know no smoke from tailpipes? If not leaking then it's definitely burning it. idontknow
Followed the wife around town for a 20 min drive. Local shop that did the compression check confirmed it. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

idontknow
What are "leak down numbers"? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Moddiction
It's a leak down test. Shows better info compared to a compression test to show where if at all compression is leaking. DonnyJagaru
I put no-name brand motor oil in a 1979 Oldsmobile I drove from Toronto to Miami one time and it drank it up fast. I added a quart in Ohio and another in Georgia. I changed the oil in Miami before driving back home with the cheaper Mobil and didn't need to add anything. DonnyJagaru
Haha! I've seen the light and own Subaru now. I just mentioned the story 'cuz it illustrates what a difference brand of oil makes, even on purportedly "easy" highway miles.
