Max Capacity
Yea, when the GF get's home I'll take the plastic tool and have her pull the lever while I try the door. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Max Capacity
Stuck a 1/2 ratchet under the lever to hold it up, used the plastic trim tools to pry the door open. The car just came from the body shop, the gas door looked a little off centered. May the buffer hit it to hard. Also the gas cap cord broke a little while back it may have bee caught in there some where. A pry of cutting pliers fixed that cord. It's open now, I'll close it after I fill the tank... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
Thanks you guy's were a big help...LOL I'm thinking about taking the wagon to Mt Washington this weekend. It kind of bummed me out that I couldn't get the door open. The other option was drive the 86' F150 to work tomorrow and drop it off at the body shop where the Spec B is getting a new rear bumper cover. It will be done tomorrow. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. GTEASER
Have this happen after high speed runs on really hot days. Caused by the vacuum from the fuel pump. JmP6889928
Caused by the vacuum from the fuel pump. Either that or it's the Mumunson Volpolizer leaking at the festerus valve and that causes undue friction on the cable....
rob-2
Caused by the vacuum from the fuel pump. ha! I think the added heat of 100f cases the cable to stretch just enough to be a problem
Max Capacity
Next update, wouldn't open again. Used the above trick to get it opened and then bent the flat spring so it has more tension in it. Open's pretty well now....will update again if if stops working. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Max Capacity
It's more of a L shaped piece of metal by the hinge. It has the black plastic cap on it. Look where the door closes in the middle of the door by the edge. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Bbc84
Might be the cable is stretched out. On my old accord I had to replace the cable.

Luckily I ride my bike to work and do about two fill ups per month. Still 220 USD though
laz
My gas door is doing the same. Took it to the dealer, they fixed it in 5 minutes, but it stopped working again in the third fill up. It is annoying as hell! X ---
