benena
Hi all, So I just order a whole bunch of bushings from prothane. I got 1x total package that includes: LCA bushing, Steering bushing and Rear diff mount bushing. However I also ordered Rear Differential Bushing Inserts... which to my knowledge is just inserted into the OEM diff bushing. So my question is, Rear differential mount bushing and Rear Differential Bushing Inserts are for the same part? Just slightly confused. Thx, Ben

.Catalyst.
Not the same. The full bushing requires pressing out the old ones and pressing those in to replace them, while the insert actually just fills voids in the OEM to firm it up (OEM stays in place). The full bushings are nice, but dropping the subframe to do it - not so much. My spec.B [#163] Project Thread with Pictures Get CryoTuned!
Th3Franz
Correct ^^^ The rear diff crossmember bushings are a good bang for the buck and straightforward to install. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
Va_lgt
I have the bushing inserts and they were super easy to install and they do an excellent job of keeping the diff in place
JmP6889928
Yup Yup...the inserts work excellently and take just a few minutes to install. I was shocked at how much they help.
drdex337
Also, a really cheap fix is to put 3M Windo-weld between the gaps in the OEM bushings. I did this recently when I was working on my subframe.
zuzu27
The rear diff bushings are totally shot on my 2000 Legacy GT wagon... Is it possible to use just these bushings inserts like these from Whiteline? http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=KDT927 Obviously, I'd love to be able to get away with NOT having to remove the old bushings and press in new ones. Do you have to have a functioning or semi-functioning OEM bushing in there doing it's job in order to use the Bushing Inserts?
