  1. Hi everyone it's been a while! Well, my engine is pretty much completed. I was about to get my intake manifold installed and noticed the AVO turbo inlet that came with my car when I bought seemed way too short. When I went to inspect it further it looked like the old owner shortened it. Which makes it a pain now to get it installed. Now I have to go buy a new turbo inlet for the vf52. Any recommendations on turbo inlets? I was looking at the COBB Silicone Turbo Inlet and also was looking at the Torque Solution Turbo Inlet. I'm leaning toward the COBB turbo inlet since it's 5 ply and should mate up to my cobb air intake. 2. Update The rest of my parts came in this week. It's crunch time now! I'm rushing to install as many parts as I can. I'm hoping to have the engine running and tuned by mid-June. Tonight I installed the up-pipe which isn't fully tightened down. I need to hit my local subaru dealer for some crush washers for the coolant fitting that's on the head that feeds the turbo. I should have that fully completed tomorrow. I decide tonight to throw on the Verus EJ Bellhousing Cover. I must say it's a very nice piece. Last week I also ordered a TurboSmart Kompact BPV. I think the last thing I need is an IAG AOS.
  3. I said screw it and ordered the rest of my parts. The order list: Cobb SF Intake & Airbox Verus Forged Clutch Fork Verus Billet Clutch Fork Pivot Verus EJ Bellhousing Cover OEM Clutch Fork Spring Group-N Pitch Stop Mount Torque Solution Positive Shift Kit Both OEM Up-Pipe Gaskets These parts should be the only things left that I needed. I can't wait to get this car back on the road!
  4. Group N or Aftermarket Pitch Stop for a daily? My plan has always been to get the perrin piece. With my rebuild I'm already putting in Group-N mounts. Just wondering what's everyone's opinion on this. I'm going to be making a big purchase and buying the rest of the things I need to get my car running.
  5. I totally appreciate it man! Like I mentioned when I breaking down the old motor that hose was pinched shut. I'll triple check this hose and make sure I'm good. Last thing I need is my new engine getting messed up because of an oversight.
  6. Hey man thanks for that, but there isn't a kink in that hose. The one that I took was pinched shut. This one is a stock subaru piece and I have put a clamp on yet. If need be I'll be sure to trim the hose down a bit.
  7. Update I decided to get a little bit of work done on the engine, I made the first half of my fuel lines. I think now I can slap the intake manifold on the tgv deletes. I still need to clean up some of the vacuum lines under the manifold. I might just buy a bunch of vacuum hose and replace as much as I can.
  8. Update I got a great deal on used Tein Flex Z coilovers for the Legacy. The old owner advised that they had the coilovers on for about a year or two. It's way better than the cut springs that are on the rear of the car. When I initially bought the car I had issues with the suspension. So I took it back to the car dealer. The guy had a spare legacy and put on stock springs and struts from the parts car and didn't replace the back. The car ended up riding way higher in the front than the rear. At least now I'll have the car sitting right once it's up and running. These should serve me well for a while until I decide to upgrade to fortune autos.
  9. I read a post about someone having issues getting the TGV deletes tuned. I have a tuner I was going to go with. I'm doing very best to get this done asap. I guess I'll find out when I have to tune. Update on this: I spoke with my local tuner and he advised that he's only seen it with OTS tunes and that he's able to protune my tgv deletes.
  10. Finally got some work done on the engine. I installed my IAG TGV deletes, fuel rails, and ID 1050x injectors. I also made my own fuel injector adapters since me being a dummy didn't buy the cobb injectors that came with adapters. Also, when I ordered my injectors I added one single adapter thinking it came in a set and not individually priced. Either way I think my adapters turned out great.
  11. Just made 15 harnesses. Should be done over the weekend.
  12. Update I had a couple of parts come in today. I ordered a RCM / SAMCO BPV Hose, and AEM 340 LPH fuel pump. My oem bpv hose is torn at the end where it goes into the bpv. I was thinking it might be tough to fit the bpv hose extension that's provided in the grimmspeed tmic kit. The quality of this hose is very nice, I'm glad I went for this over a stock piece which is $50 to $75 new. The RCM / SAMCO was $52.71 which in my opinion is a great price.
  13. Oh ok that makes more sense. I'm glad that rhino was able to help you out. Sorry I didn't have those specific pins.
  14. Are you talking about the i85 harness? I'm currently looking into making one. My plan is to go to the junk yard and pick up a spare steering wheel and wiring to add steering wheel controls. I'm unsure what kind of pins that connector uses.
  15. Lol yes I've seen that pic. I just forgot about it. I'll make sure to line up my TMIC while the engine is out. Thanks for the suggestion.
  16. Thanks for the advise guys. I have to order a couple of exhaust gaskets from summit. Honestly, I didn't even think about having the turbo installed for priming. I'm glad you said something. It makes total sense. I'll be making my fuel lines when I install my TGV deletes.
  17. So it doesn't have to be an 08+ sti coolant tank then. That helps a lot if someone is doing a local part out.
  18. Update I received my 2008+ wrx Denso 221-9235 radiator yesterday from RockAuto. I'm glad CoverRussian's thread covered this radiator. It really helped with going this route in the meantime until I can upgrade down the line. My original radiator looks in great condition but I figured I might as well have everything new for the new engine. I also ordered some nylon vise jaws so I don't beat up my IAG fuel rails when I torque down the damper plug. I'm hoping I can make really good progress on the long block this week and looking forward to having the engine in the car next month. Does anyone recommend I install my turbo and uppipe while the engine is out? Or should I do that when the engine is in the car? When I originally took the engine out I had already removed the turbo and headers since I was working on the oil pick up when I found glitter in the oil pan. 19. I noticed a bass difference between an old JVC deck that had more control of audio and my Pioneer deck. My old JVC deck sounded a lot better. Only reason I switched it out was the bluetooth automatic connection sucked and wouldn't auto connect.
  20. That's really weird. I wonder if with the weather change it's starting to act up. In my truck it acts the same way. I bought a new window motor assembly that I have yet to install.
  21. Update I received my ID 1050x injectors and Accessport today. Everything looks great but I feel like a total dummy haha. When I bought the PnP injector adapters I thought I was buying the set for a great deal lol. Well I was actually buying 1 adapter. I'm kicking myself right now. What I ended up doing was ordering a connector set from amazon. I figured I'd just build my own adapters since I have a ton wiring and Raychem DR-25 / Deray V25 heatshrink.
