  1. Yep, stock injectors currently. I decided to just take it to the shop. If diagnosis determines that it's the injector and not just the seal, then I may take you up on that. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on this current stock injector setup but I also don't want to jump into the top feed conversion yet either.
  2. I smell fuel. I think I may have sort of figured out what's going on. I don't see any fuel remnants anywhere but when I get on it and it bucks a little (no flashing CEL at this point) I start smelling fuel. I pulled the electrical plug off #4 and it was a little wet. I am thinking now that when in boost, the injector is leaking enough to cause a misfire. Does this sound reasonable?
  3. Well, crap. Put the brand new coil pack onto #4 and it's still misfiring. The car is popping like crazy too when you put the power on. What could some other possible causes be? Intake/boost leak or exhaust leak? I could try putting another donut on between the downpipe and the rest of the exhaust. I'm not beyond just taking it to a dang expert either, it's just not super easy to find a turbo subie expert around here (that has free time).
  4. I still have mine and it’s saggy. Have you ever heard of anyone making the OEM not sag?
  5. Nice! My local dealer is supposed to have my new coil today or tomorrow. Cannot wait to install it and see if this fixes things. So close to tuning for power now!
  6. You mind shooting some photos when you do this? I’d like to see exactly what needs to be done. I still have my stock plastic pan that I can cut up to make the wings.
  7. I was hot to trot to get an AOS at one point but have sort of fallen off on buying parts for my '06. It's got over 100k miles on it and still seems to run fine. Is installing an AOS (like the pricey IAG one) a good thing to do? I kind of hate how much it adds to the piping under the hood, but my tuner recommends them. The full on IAG one is pricey and seems fairly complicated to install. A lot of WRX guys are running catch cans, but nobody seems to make any for the turbo Legacy platform. School me on AOS/Catch Cans. Thanks!
  8. For sure! Not a bad thing to have a spare of either. I just got to thinking, I'd rather just do this once instead of doing it twice.
  9. Decided to go ahead and order a coil pack from Subaru since it'll more than likely have to replaced anyways. Thanks for all the help gentlemen.
  10. You are absolutely correct! I don't drive this car daily, so I have time. I did not get around to swapping coil positions yet but I will do that soon. I mainly just posted this thread to see which position No. 4 is in so that I can diagnose which coil may be bad. Not too many mechanics I trust around here, so it largely falls onto me.
  11. Can you elaborate a little on what you mean by this? I’ve been reading that these coils rarely go bad.
  12. Are cylinders 2 and 4 on the driver's side of the car? I will switch coil pack 2 and 4 and see if the misfire moves to cylinder 2.
  13. I was having “in boost” misfires before a bunch of work was done on my car, including new NGK plugs. I am in the process of having an e-tune done and we’re at the WOT in 3rd gear phase and I’m getting a cylinder 4 flashing misfire. Should I go ahead and just replace this coil pack? Fast WRX has some “close to OEM” coil packs for like $89.
  14. Doing some logging for the tuner this morning and decided to see how well this blanket works. It was pretty hot to the touch but not burn you hot. I guess it’s working.
  15. I finally just finished installing the blanket. My huge hands found it rather difficult but it did fit. I found a neat trick. I ended up using a rigid piece of copper to fish the wire laces around the bottom of the turbo. Thanks for all the comments guys.
  16. Thanks! I have my old stock turbo sitting on the floor of my garage. I’ll practice on it before I try to install it again.
  17. Forgot to post a photo of the finished product (AFR is low because I just started the car, btw). I am not sure yet if I want a gauge in the right position or just a blank filler. You can see the Aux. plug on the top left of the radio.
  18. Found an install YouTube video from several years back. I was just installing it wrong it appears.
  19. FYI, I removed the roughness 1-4 and was able to log! Whoo hoo! Just sent my first logs to the tuner.
  20. I'm probably just installing it wrong. The seam should go at the bottom on both sides of the exhaust flange (that fits to the down pipe) I'm assuming?
  21. I bought this turbo blanket for my custom JMP VF52 but it doesn't look like it's going to fit very well. Here's the link to the item: https://www.ebay.com/itm/111427193010 Does anybody run one of these? I may end up returning it and just going the stock heat shield route.
  22. My car is a 2006. Am I constrained by the ECU as to how many monitors can be logged at one time because my car is so old, or this an accessport deal? I am trying to log 24 of the list above. Seems like an odd constraint.
