  1. Welp. This can’t be good. Sounded like a bunch of rocks in a blender. This is what I found when I pulled the intercooler. Going to try and pull the down pipe tonight.
  2. Swapped out my Perrin recirc BPV for a Turbosmart Kompact full recirc. As I suspected, the Perrin wasn't closing fully. Throttle response is much better now. Going to take the Perrin apart later to try and figure out what's wrong with it.
  3. Finally drove Christine (she’s almost an Eleanor now) to work today. Hard to find places to really open it up in DC/NoVA traffic. But it was a blast. Looking forward to the drive home for more than one reason now.
  4. Finally got it back from the trans shop. Kept out of boost until the shift shock went away. Then attempted to have some fun merging onto the highway to head home, blew the BOV hose off under boost Thankfully I came with tools and was able to jury-rig it to hold, but I stayed out of boost until I got home. Changed over all the spring clamps to worm clamps. Drove it again today. It’s a beast. Time to start working on those brakes! Anyone have experience mounting a Grimmspeed MCB with an Aeromotive FPR? The FPR looks like it’s on top of the mount position for the MCB.
  5. After checking the sunroof drains, check the cowl vent (around the wiper arms.) Those are notorious for clogging up. Even if it looks clear, take the cowl grille off and make sure there’s nothing stuck down there.
  6. Looks like you have a DEB Nexus (LTE) but are using a FLO (WiFi) boot loader. There should be a different boot loader for the DEB Nexus.
  7. It's finally happening! Tow truck picked up the car this afternoon. Just talked with the shop, they're going to plumb the Derale trans thermostat & cooler, and install my Fluidampr too!
  8. Got the power folding switch wired in! Also found out why I only have one direction of adjustment on the passenger side. One the pins in the mirror joystick was missing :womp: luckily the JDM switch had everything. Now it’s off to get a new(ish) 5EAT put in.
  9. Finished wiring up the mirrors. I gave up on the passenger mirror. I got the up/down to where I wanted it, re-pinned it for left/right and just left it. Left/right is usually the only adjustment I would do anyways. But, now that I've taken the connectors apart so many times it should be easier when I finally decide to tackle it again. Also ran the wires for power fold to the dash. Ran out of daylight so the switch will have to wait for another day.
  10. Finally got the new-to-me JDM headlamps and mirrors installed. Hoping to have the leveling and power folding switches wired in this week. Question: the passenger mirror only has up/down, or if I switch two pins around only left/right. Does anyone know the correct pin out for these? None of the posts I could find seem to match up with my mirrors.
  11. Rewired the fogs in Christine's JDM bumper. Just need to rewire the JDM HIDs and run wires to the leveler switch, then I can get down to the shop for the new (to me) trans. I cannot wait to finally start driving this thing. Fingers crossed that by this time next week it'll be on the road.
  12. Electrical diag might be my least favorite thing to do on a car. BUT, I found the issue, door harness pins loose in the connector. Pulled the pins out of both sides of the connectors, cinched them up a bit, back together with a dab of dielectric grease (don't @ me) and we're back in business!
  13. Decided to try and get the JDM double DIN installed. Got everything put together, and no sound from the driver rear speaker. Checked all the wires, everything is plugged in and signal is good at the harness; plugged the factory radio back in, still no sound; swapped speaker with a known good speaker, still nothing. I'm at a loss for what to look for next. Any ideas?
  14. I wish. I priced it out and it was almost double what it’s going to cost me to just put another 5EAT back in it.
  15. Going to have a shop do it. Good friend owns a body shop and the mechanic they use is going to put it in. They’re a transmission shop, so I’m confident that it will be done right. Plus the tech said he’d replace every seal on it that he can replace without breaking down the case. (And shockingly, they’re going to warranty it. Even with me supplying the part.)
  16. Found a decent low mileage 5EAT locally. Should be going in next week. Hoping to finally start driving Christine by next weekend. *crosses fingers and toes*
  17. Honestly not sure. Most of the mods were done by the previous owner. It has an AP pro-tune from IAG. P/O claimed something like 290/320, but I have a hard time believing it’s that high. Would really like to get these trans issues resolved and get it pro-tuned again. Power mods I know it has: Blouch 380xt Invidia catted downpipe Invidia uppipe Unknown brand 3” mid to stock mufflers ID 1050x’s IAG billet topfeed conversion rails IAG fuel lines and FPR IAG TGV deletes AEM 320 pump Grimmspeed topmount Cobb intake w/airbox Perrin turbo inlet Grimmspeed ECBS I don’t know what was on the car when it was last tuned though...
  18. Finally buttoned up Christine and took her for a spin. Reset memory 2 and tried the TCU relearn procedure, only to loose 4th gear. Got back home and did a little more troubleshooting (FSM is key.) Result: I need a valve body. womp Anyone have luck with used valve bodies?
  19. Been working on some vinyl wrap for the interior. Pretty happy with how this came out. But man, those corners are tough.
  20. Hmmm, not mine. But I'm curious... I don't remember seeing any LGT wagon's around me.
  21. Put new wipers on today. Realized during the deluge that it was time for some new ones.
