  1. Update... not a bad clutch but this. Posted in the 4th gen specific forum as well. Runs, drives like it should after replacing the axle and seal.. Clues? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  2. What I thought was a junk clutch that had maybe 12k miles on it.. found this. Ball joint didn't break, strut didn't come loose from the knuckle, nothing. Drove it approximately 15 miles to work as I thought it was a slipping clutch. Replaced with a new axle and seal, but I'm stumped as to how.... Any clues??? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  3. @Gex I know those feels, the ugly cry and all. My first Daytona Shelby, first turbo car and it was lost in an accident 2 weeks after buying it. Needless to say, I still have one, parts from it live on in my current one. As for my LGT, I can't imagine what a mess I'll be. Glad you're good physically.. reach out if need be.. 4. As per usual, topped off the oil. Just broke 242k. New clutch from 4 mons and approximately 11k miles crapped out.. Emailed ACT and am waiting on reply. On another note, is it possible to just get the throw out bearing for a TSK3 kit? Or do I have to buy the whole thing... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  5. Finally acquired and installed a Cobb short shifter. I should've done this years ago... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  6. @Max Capacity @Nonamedude I literally watched the deer leave the woods, run towards me, collide, get airborne, ran over a leg, and watched it run BACK to the woods from which it came.. So, in form of the thread, I removed my necessities from the car and put them into the rental for vacation. I still haven't got the gumption to open the hood. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  7. Bambi decided to keep running at me instead of around me.. surreal experience watching a deer get airborne and not catch it in the windshield. Already called the insurance company, I have headlights and fenders that can be used.. And to think, I was gonna take this to Virginia for my annual April vacation... 8. I see your car is black.. are semi local to New England? I could use a thing or 2... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  9. Soo... all that pump needs is mounting solution and 1 pressure hose to the rack? Of course a return too... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  10. I friggin loved those cars. I used to work for a Chev/Buick/Olds dealer and drove those things brand spanking new! I assume you have the 3800 in that? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
  11. Welp.. its rough AF. I'll clean it up as much as I can before install. Scotty
  12. How do you guys run the line for the boost gague? Just tee into the BPV or FPR line? I'd like to see how y'all have it setup. Scotty
  13. So... it would probably be easier to do a cluster swap. Is it a straightforward deal or is there programming involved? Scotty
  14. That's not terrible when you factor in buying another one, then getting new bushings and refinishing it.. Scotty
  15. This gives me hope, as NY cars in general are know for returning to earth by natural causes... Scotty
  16. The VNT turbos work the same in principle as the VGT turbos on diesels. Chrysler/ Shelby had a production car in 89 with a VNT turbo, the 89 Shelby CSX. Im 90% sure that they were developing that as far back as 87. I'm on the tapatalk app, maybe if I switch to browser?? I'll find out soon enough! Scotty
  17. I replaced my neutral switch on the trans today. Never in my life did I'd think there be one of these switches on a manual. I also found a thinner washer to install it with. Hopefully I'll have cruise control working for the first time in almost 4 years! Scotty
  18. So I noticed on some clusters, the word Legacy is in red. Mine is white. Is that a MY change thing? A basic mod that I can do? As they say, curiosity.. Scotty
  19. The first post shows the links broken, no pictures. Im suprised GM used VNT style turbos. The only other manufacturer at the time using/experimenting with them was Chrysler/Shelby. Scotty
  20. Horey shet.. I'm suprised there is room for those turbos! Any pictures of the drivetrain??? Scotty
  21. Off topic... but can you send me info on the AWD car?? Never heard of a GM awd car from the 80's!?!?! On topic.. car crossed 224k miles. Needs oil change, just bought new Kyb struts for the rear even though they are newish aftermarket stockers. Drive the car for the first time about a week ago, rona sux! 10-ish days of no driving makes you feel like a virign again.. just saying..... Scotty
