I would've never guessed the stocker would make 150. I remember reading somewhere that the car was gear limited to 137. The car felt uncomfortably smooth at 140. I've been in a few cars in that upper area of speed and you atleast had an idea of what's going on. In this case I was putting space between a Rav4 and a Rougue that were having a rage issue on the highway. I got past them 2 only to see a newer Infiniti coupe next to me probably doing the same thing. I stayed in it and gave the Infiniti room to move because I assumed he was way faster than me. Apparently he's governed at around 125 because after that it was busses.. LOL Once I realized what was happening, I looked down and saw 140 and an upcoming known speed trap. Yeap I slowed down enough to not have license taken away if there was a cruiser there. But, yeah.. uncomfortably smooth. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

In case anyone is wondering, 140mph is doable with this trans swap.. who'd thunk it! Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Sooo I'm on vacation. Developed a minor misfire. Left home Saturday, knowing it'll only act up if I really use it. Welp I'm in Virginia at stay number 2 and it decided to get a little worse. Used my AP and found cyl.3 being the culprit. Thank heavens for a nearby autozone and my tool set. I think it's good.. I'll find out in the AM. *update* back to normal!! Thank heavens!!! That weird noise just might be from the starter not being totally centered. I noticed that with mine when I first did it. I ended up loosening mine, centering it by hand then tightening down. My starter was on its way out to begin with so I just initially chalked it up to a bad starter. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Nope! Aftermarket.. though already painted/sealed. I couldn't say no with the discount I got from my other half! Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Finally got the leaky gas tank replaced and a bunch of odds and ends. This is after the first full tank in the car. This was achieved by driving like a "normal" person.. well, at 75mph on the highway atleast. I really can't complain.. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Filled up the car after it's first full tank after getting it replaced with a bunch of other odds and ends and of course, the timing belt service. I got 335 miles on the trip and the car averaged 24.0 mpg (moving average). This was attained by very minimal idling, 75mph on cruise, and not hitting 5k rpm on most highway merges. In other words, driving like a "normal" person. Who'd thunk it that swapping to newer transmission would actually save money??? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Car is in the shop at work. Getting a list of stuff done as I don't have the time to do it myself. Timing belt set was almost 3 years old and the small roller was starting to fail. Thank heavens I'm good about preventive maintenance. Between that, control arms front and rear uppers, gas tank, L/R brake line and some other suspension stuff, I'll have a like new car again! It's very true. Very few actual GT cars out there. I'm often found on 95 heading out of RI towards 495, then south towards Rt.24. I ran across one dude, dark blue GT from CT. Knew what my car was and gave a few revs. Gave them back when my line of traffic went past him. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Sub'd.. I don't wanna replace my Greddy, but may need a replacement.. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
I finally got around to replacing my starter. When the car would get hot it would malfunction. Random symptoms like half crank and just spin, just spin, crank over 3 revolutions then just spin, etc... Also got to install my STI pedal covers. All I have to say is that a little lube goes a long way.. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Thanx for the mention! I just wanna add that this swap is as easy as it sounds. In my post, there is a link to my bookâface profile with an album of all the pictures I took with comments about them. The trans is a 17' with 55k and the shifter is from a 16' with 79k. All of my stuff is stock at the moment. As of today, I just changed my oil. Topped off the power steering. It appears that I have a small leak somewhere. I'll get to it when the weather is better. I also picked up an STi pedal cover set. Looks like I have to disassemble the gas pedal to install the new one. Also, just turned 255k. Happy EJ255 day.. [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
