  1. George, thanks for your post. I've always been a kinda "confused onlooker" in regards to this ongoing 20mm Bar discussion. I've never felt the need to change from the stock issue bar. I figure it can't be an engineering oversight by Subaru ... or is it? Can the need for an upgrade be due to the way the car is driven by some users. That is not meant as a criticism of those who like to push their vehicles hard but legal, but I just pose the question. Subaru has a reputation (especially WRX) as a fun car to drive, especially through bends, and maybe that gives rise to the need for a 20mm bar for drivers who like to get the "full driving experience" ..... and again I'm not being critical of those drivers. I guess I'm a reasonably "sedate driver" who does his fair share of highway travel, and I can honestly say that I have never had any sway problems.
  2. I'm merely an interested observer in this tuning thread, but I do find the fact that there is apparent animosity creeping into the discussion, a bit disappointing because it seems to stop members from posting their opinions or ideas and that means we all miss out. I have absolutely no idea if tuning affects CVT transmissions, ..... but can I respectfully submit to you that if you have only been tuning your car since November, then it's probably a bit too early to say that the CVT is unaffected ...... hopefully in 5 years time you can say the same thing. Again I repeat, ... you might well be 100% correct in your statement about tunes and CVT, but I'm not sure it's fair to call it BS if someone suggests that there might be problems down the track. It might not be deliberate "false information" ..... it might be just an "honest opinion" ...... and you only have to read through a few different threads on this forum to see that opinions are like Aholes ..... everyone has one
  3. Thanks for that, ..... pretty much what I thought as well. I think the Stinger looks promising .... apart from the grille that is.
  4. Pics would be great. Can you also do me favor ..... if you see one, can you check out the new Kia Stinger and the 2018 Camry, they are both interesting looking vehicles from the still pictures I've seen.
  5. Just out of interest, what sort of K's did you get out of the Dunlops?
  6. Thanks, I'd appreciate that. BTW, this is the actual Michelin tyre that I had penciled in as my next change. http://www.motoring.com.au/tyres-michelin-goes-quiet-with-primacy-3-st-36946/?gclid=COf6qqzyk9ICFcWTvQodyHQDZQ
  7. Thanks for that review. I'm not due for tyres for a while, but I've been watching the various tyre reviews for future reference, because I intend to change from the factory Dunlops as well. I don't want to start another new "'tyre discussion" but I would be interested if Michelin was on your list of possible replacements for the Dunlops, because going on various reviews I've seen on numerous sites, they were looking good to me ..... but I am happy to take on board your comments on the Potenzas.
  8. As one of the "seat complainers" I have to admit you are completely correct because as you rightly say, the comfort level is an individual preference thing. My problem is that I actually wanted "the bean bag" effect and that was obviously an unrealistic desire. I have previously owned a classic old V8 Ford which allowed me to disappear into the seat, and as a result I am comparing the Subaru seats unfairly to that. I reiterate that the Subaru seats are not "terrible" (and the leather is certainly softening up the longer I drive it) but I do pine for the old Ford "bean bags." P.S. I do like cheese burgers.
  9. I know where you are coming from I bought my 2016 3.6R and don't regret it ....... but IMHO "comfort" is not one of the biggest selling points of this car. Like I say, I'm happy with it, and all things being equal, I will more than likely stick with Subaru in the future, but I sure hope the design engineers come up with better seats, so that your 65 mile drive to work gives you that comfort level you want.
  10. Just had my 6 months service (5500 miles) (second oil change) after a 1650 mile road trip in my 3.6R liberty/legacy. So far I've never had to add oil in between oil changes. (mainly highway driving)
