  1. Yea when someone gets the aux in completed in a professional fashion take some pics for install. This is the only part of this I have not completed.

I was thinking to go with the impreza kit and just plug and play. I dont need steering wheel controls.

Let us know if this is possible and post pics when you do this with a short write up if you can.

  2. You will have to mod the hangers on the mufflers or try some longer hangers to lower the tips below the bumper. I installed 08 LGT mufflers on my OBXT. I had Midas bend the mufflers hangers to let the tips sit one inch below the bumper.

Note: I ordered XL rubber hangers and there is not enough room for them. Had to go the Midas route.

Or purchase the JDM outback bumper skin like I did. Do a search about it and you will find it.

  3. did you use the spec b radio or regular 07 LGT limited, i just want to make sure, what do you have to do to nake the Aux work?

spec b and LGT radio have the same part number I believe but I would check with the dealer.

Be aware you may not be able to get the 2007 radio anymore as that is what I was told but could be wrong, Im not sure 100%. See a few posts back where I commented on it.

  4. So i have been reading this post and i am still a little confused, if i get the 07 radio it will bolt on into 05 ok, but my factory sub won't work or i can make it work by cutting some wires, and will i get the aux-in and whats the installation dificulty ??

Here is the info, except for the aux in.

2005 outback with factory underseat sub

LOTS OF SUBIE BUCKS!!! KING OF PARTS TOOK THEM AND HAD THE BEST PRICES

2007 spec B radio (bolt in hook up) # 86201AG67A

2007 sirius tuner (bolt in hook up) # H621SXA100

Radio Shack Sirius Antenna (hooks right up) Radio Shack 1200156 Accurian 12-156 (Because this antenna is outside the car reception is perfect)

Looks like the impreza kit for the aux in may work Ill be trying it out soon and let everyone know unless anyone else has done it.

  5. The only problem is that this cable does not work for everyone. I tried EVERYTHING to get his to work...it would work sometime but mostly not..I ended up buying a Tactix and never had a problem....

could have been an issue with the com ports. Its odd that yours doesnt work but just about everyone elses is. Maybe you had a bad cable

  6. My stock wheels fit over my APracing BBK.

But Like you said in a previous post:

"In all honesty the size and clamping force of the OEM calipers are more then enough is you have decent pads.

Better calipers will help out in the feel department due to better rigidity.....And looks.....it makes you feel good"

  7. I've confrmed that the '08 Impreza aux-in kit does work since the pins are the same size. You need to release the pins from the white connector on the Aux-in harness, and move them over to the I-85 connector. On an '05 Legacy or outback, pins 1, 2, and 5 are empty on the I-85 connector, so you will only need to remove pin 6 from the I-85 connector so that you can install the pin from the aux in harness

Pin 1 - audio left (white wire)

Pin 2 - audio right (red wire)

Pin 5 - Ground (black wire)

Pin 6 - Aux enable (brown wire)

Those are the colours of the wires in the Aux-in kit harness, and the corresponding pins that you need to move them to on the I-85 connector. This allows you to have aux-in and still retain the steering wheel audio controls

    I have a 2005

I orderd the Aux in box 86257XA10A Now I need to:

    1. Find out if it will fit into my console in the armrest area

    2. Get the wiring that goes from the radio to the Aux in box?

Do you have any information on what I need to do for these two items.

    Greg

  8. I think there is a LOT of validity to buying better calipers (and two-piece rotors), that is why I paid for them.

Stopping power is just not one of them. Heat capacity, rigidity, and coolness are.;)

Exactly why I did the LGT upgrade over the BBK. I saved thousands and didnt have to replace my wheels :spin:

  9. Well I finally did my upgrade this weekend for the outback XT stage 2+.

I put LGT calipers all the way around, DBA4000 slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, technafit SS lines and Motul 600 fluid.

I cannot believe the difference. The outback brakes were totally inadequate for a turbocharged vehicle.

  10. Aside from the condescension,

Please reread your first post to me when I reposted post 148 for the sole purpose that you might have missed it. Notice I didnt write anything at all but the original post:

"While I appreciate you trying to help, it really doesn't:

    1) That post you quoted is from 6 months ago, so I was hoping to, ya know, get some updated, recent info.

    2) Who the hell is Tristan, and why would I care what one person has to say? Is he the North American Czar of Audio for Subaru of America (NACASA)? Because Bob told me that there was a Raiders of the Lost Ark sized warehouse full of them just waiting for homes."

    :)

"But that would lead me to the next logical question which is...Is there anyone not named Tristan and who does not work at THE KING OF PARTS who might have any of these units? Am I to believe that because He said that there are no more, then it be so for everyone else as well?"

"Because Bob told me that there was a Raiders of the Lost Ark sized warehouse full of them just waiting for homes."

Wouldnt that be Bob at 1800AREA51
